I do support Trumps stance on immigration, I do not support retroactively removing citizenship. As mentioned in my prior statement, I was talking from a personal and somewhat privileged point of view and that was wrong. Most Salvadorians and Mexicans tend to always have the idea of going back to their country once they retire. My parents have been preparing for the move back ever since I can remember, they pretty much have everything over there they have here... I was ignorantly bragging about my life changing but not radically enough that I would cry about it. My life would change drastically and it would suck. But not for the same reason as many other people who have never even been to El Salvador or who haven't established a business and have the income to just start again in another country. This is why I do condemn Trump's attempt to retroactively remove citizenship. I'm sorry about your parents, I'm sure its extremely difficult living off of those wages. And yes, I'm sure your parents would greatly benefit from their hard work here. I personally don't mind people wanting to come here and work. We need people that want to prosper. Issue is that you can't filter immigrants. The way I see it, we will always have immigration both legal and illegal. Does not matter who the president is. Does not matter how secure the border is. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Immigration is good when under control, but as a country illegal immigration should be made to be extremely difficult. This limits crime crossing the border, people working without paying taxes and of course anchor babies with no birthright citizenship. Does the story end there? No, we should also try and provide opportunities not just to the wealthy in other countries to come but to regular people that just simply want to work hard and have a better opportunity at life. What we 100% can't do is open borders and expect problems to iron themselves out in the name of being kind hearted and good. This is what Biden did and now things aren't just worse for every American but also illegal immigrants that will get caught up in these raids and get deported. They can't stay, we got overrun and yes tons of criminals crossed the border. I'm telling you right now, we do not want MS13 gang members anywhere near this country. Ethically, no one is right in this convo. But we need immigration enforcement....
If months from now and the SCOTUS lets Trump have his way, I am sure you would be saying "you have to be sh*t stupid to not see this coming". OK. I will use small words, short sentences and type slowly. If birthright citizenship is unconstitutional going forward, it has never been constitutional. Birthright citizenship, that has been awarded, has to be taken back. It is then a small step to say that all the freed slaves are not citizens. All of their descendants are also not citizens. They all have to leave.
What problems do you believe exist because of this so called "open borders". Can you when you express your problems cite statisical analysis also. I believe the border issue is a labor exploitation issue. I'm still trying to be convinced how it's a security issue. Outside of fear mongering about fake stories about terrorists using the southern border to plan attacks or crime fear mongering which is fake news given that illegal immigrants have lower violent crime rates per capita. But I'll let you use one talking point to counter what I said. Here. I'm guessing you'll say "one added murder is too much". Trust me I have reasoned out arguments for what that is a stupid argument but I'll let you say it.
When people say "reactionary mindset" this is it. You see a random picture of men chained in dehumanizing ways and you have no clue if valid due process was done or they were just rounded up because they had some certain tattoos etc. You have no clue. You don't have the intellectual curiosity to figure it out. So you rebel in the dehumanization of people just because some authoritarian fascist says these are criminals. You just need one strong handsome man to tell you these people are criminals and you'll believe it. At face value. Because you are gullible and stupid. I know the way I express my frustration at stupidity that people like you express is t conductive to changing minds but at this point I just don't care. I know you will be more upset about me calling you stupid than you actually self reflecting on your beliefs.
Random men? Are you seeing the same picture? All of these dudes are tatted up in gang signs and names. And I'm not sure if you have been following but my background is Salvadorian.... I know El Salvador, I know how dangerous it was up until these poor random angels got picked up and thrown in prison where they belong.... These mf's are evil..... Its not a coincidence people feel safe all of a sudden, its not an illusion... Putting these aholes in prison worked, they contribute nothing to society and you trying to defend them... Oof
I don't respect people who make claims of being evil so willy nilly. A authoritarian fascist who campaigns on "tough on crime" and law and order will always do these mass round ups and pretend they solved their country's socioeconomic issues and 5 year later all they did was increase the incarnation population and made more men estranged from their families. This is a story as old as human civilization.
Reality is your biggest problem, I told woke123 the same thing when he was trying to convince everyone that Biden was fine and that the economy was fine and that the border was fine. People just weren't seeing it, Bukele has been in power for 5 years and then got reelected for a 2nd term. Its been 5 years of peace in El Salvador. Its not a myth, its proven.... I've seen it myself, the advances the country has made under his leadership has been nothing short of a miracle... Maybe putting away criminals works???
Buddy I told you that you are too stupid. That means I don't trust your analysis of the long term economic ramifications of a nation state. I do t think you have the basic patience to fully flesh out long term analysis of actions like mass imprisonment ventures that incarcerate like 15 percent of the population of young men. The only thing you aren't stupid on here is the fact the Democrat party tried to gaslight American voters that the economy is great while millions of Americans are struggling to pay rent while working overtime hours. The GOP is great at scapegoating and that's why they won. The great thing in terms of the effectiveness of villainization of illegal immigrants is the mere fact that 99.99% of American voters have not once had a negative interaction with an illegal immigrant. This creates a scenario where a fascist leader can make grand claims about how illegal immigrants are harming society, make proclamations about mass deporting them in the tens of millions, hardly do any of the legwork required to do such an industrial scaled deportation process and the come back a couple of years later and tell the American public they solved the problem and the American public will not notice a single difference outside of some woke children crying about their parents being reported and he price of your Doritos going up a bit but believe the problem is solved. This is a win win because it allows the trump admin to make big promises and pretend they keep said promises. And the other win is the real reason for the anti-immigrant rhetoric. Capital owners want a indentured servitude class of humans that are not protected by American labor laws. When you demonize a group of people and the general public becomes comfortable with their demonization, the ability of bosses to do things like overwork migrants in horrible conditions under min wage without push back becomes easier. Things like raping migrant women become easier for these managers and bosses also because when you put the fear of God into these migrants that they will be detained and deported the moment they become vocal about anything, they will shut their mouths and do the bidding of their boss.
That's just a product of how expensive life is here in a America after retirement. My in-laws have thought about the same thing. I know several people on my wife's side of the family that have gone back to live in Mexico after retiring here in the US because the cost of living here is high and they only get a social security check and maybe whatever they have in their 401ks. Thankfully my parents have me to help them out when needed. If I could get them over here legally I would, but that was their own wrong doing. Thanks. Is this really true though? These individuals come here illegally, but in many cases use someone else's social security to get a job, so they pay income taxes without being able claim anything back if they overpaid. They also pay sales taxes when they buy goods here. They also pay all these other taxes that their bills includes. In most cases they rent, and they likely subsidize their landlord's tax bill. I think it's incorrect to state that they don't pay taxes. I know it's a common republican talking point, but how true is it? And anchor babies, once again, just trying to make a better life for themselves, trying to give their kids a better life. In Mexico, poverty is pretty high. Their salaries go to pay food and shelter and bills and don't have a lot left over to actually save. I can't blame someone for wanting to give their child an opportunity to thrive in a country that you have the chance to do so. I don't advocate for open borders, but if you make it over here, I'm not going to be mad if you are just trying to give your kid a chance to have a better life than you.
The cost of living here right now is insane, not sure how Mexico works but in El Salvador there are no property taxes. Your house/land is yours no matter what. This really brings true property ownership into question, here in the U.S you purchase a property. But do you ever really own it? If you default on your taxes it gets taken away, if you don't pay your HOA it gets taken away on top of those 30 years where you paid a mortgage every single month because if you don't soon enough that home will be taken away. Its difficult to have peace like that. Then again those taxes do go towards education, M.U.D's, bayous etc.... Its nice having these things but its pretty suffocating. In regards to illegals paying taxes, sure they do... Some.... But honestly you know very well its not so simple, for example.... My dads social was stolen about 10 years ago, he was unable to claim his income tax.... Someone had already claimed it, after filing a report with the IRS they now send him a pass code every single year. In many cases illegal immigrants do things they shouldn't. In most cases they don't contribute the same way a citizen does, I have to claim every single thing I make money on. Immigrants don't. I hire a lot of immigrants in my home flips/rehabs. While I get a w form for my yearly commission total my guys are adamant about only taking cash. Look, its not a misconception. Its the truth. I'm an anchor baby and even I will tell you many people have children here for the sole purpose of citizenship. Is it bad they want to give their a children a better future and life? No, its admirable to put your life on the line for your children. Is it bad that some are only doing it for the citizenship? Absolutely, in many ways deterring people from attempting the trip here will save life's, young women from being trafficked and young men from being brutally murdered.
Only an idiot will believe in the concept of anchor babies being a systemic issue from your most likely fake anecdote. So tell me the effects of this to American society. Show me statisical analysis of how this harmed the average American especially given that the class of people we are referring to utilize the least amount of tax services while working backbreaking labor for minimum wage to make your frozen pack of jalapeno poppers half the price than it should be
The funny thing is you still think illegal immigrants are out on the field picking oranges and working for 25 cents an hour.... Here's an example, I have a house on contract and the buyer requested the water heater replaced due to age. Ok, fine... Not going to lose the sell for a water heater, I was actually having lunch with my illegal Honduran friend after pulling a hardwood floor from another home. He was helping me out, I told him I didn't have the time to go pull the water heater myself and asked him if he wanted to take care of it. $500 just labor he said, I said I'll let him know. Called my Mexican friend who is an A/C tech but legally here.... Bro you know someone who can do this for me, I really don't want to drain an pull water heater from the attic on a home on contract plus already inspected. He called his boy who is a plumber and licensed... How much? $400 just labor..... Who do you think I went with? On top of that, as I have mentioned before. Illegal immigrant work isn't the best. Not even close, you can find some people who do a decent job but to act like you are getting fine workmanship for a few cents is bs. These people want to get paid too because a Whataburger combo is $11 for everyone....
Yeah getting rid of that water heater installer is the type of crime we need to get rid of. Getting rid of them like Bukele just works. Man you're just not very bright You may be a citizen but you're a criminal too. Why don't you turn in your friends instead of giving him work?
