But, this debate about what's a "reasonable" determination of citizenship is blithely ignoring that there is no mechanism that has been put into play to actually change how we determine citizenship. Congress isn't debating it, states aren't organizing around it, there's no serious petition gathering signatures, Trump hasn't even proposed any amendment. You're just dreamcasting. So, while most of the world determines citizenship by blood, they also regulate gun ownership and provide universal healthcare. Since we're dreamcasting about things other countries do that we can't do here, I'd love to see those two things in America too.

It's perfectly appropriate to discuss how other modern and advanced democracies regulate citizenship. The other topics you've brought up would fall well outside the purview of this thread. People do in fact bring up how other countries regulate gun laws or healthcare in threads about healthcare or gunlaws. I'm not confined to discussing the EO.
