My question to the birthers would be if not Honolulu then where? I mean his father is undisputably from Africa. His mother admittedly had never been and there are no records of her ever going there...... So where? seems like a fruitless waste of time to advance a bigoted agenda.

In case you bright judicial minds out there don't know, a dismissed lawsuit at the earliest stage means ZERO or near-zero legal fees. In fact, if Obama were not the POTUS, I would recommend counter-suing for defamation if I weren't so sure that the idiots filing these lawsuits had almost nothing.

Great, but that doesn't really address my question. Why are people dodging the question? Why release the COLB instead of the birth certificate? Why spend $1 million to suppress the release of the birth certificate? I don't care where he was born, I just want to see this birth certificate. So I do not share the goal of the birthers. When someone goes to such great lengths to hide something, then there's probably something juicy in what they are hiding. I'd expect that to be the case here. Otherwise, it would have been released over a year ago.
Much as I hate to feed the trolls, I am in a mood to smash someone's delusions, whether or not it will lead anywhere. 1. The $1 million figure is a figment of someone's imagination, never reported in a reputed site. The fact is, to assemble this figure from a myriad of legal cases (some of which are operated by White House lawyers, others are worked by pro bono lawyers ALLEGEDLY...no one has ALL the information) is IMPOSSIBLE. The very fact that all of the lawsuits have been dismissed at the earliest possible stage indicates however that $1 million seems to be an excessive fabrication. It is based on a report that Of course, this could be for ANYTHING. But birthers, with their own perceived specialness (perhaps inborn with years of creationism, bible school and oft-repeated "sanctity of America lives" speeches), assume that the million is all for them just because Obama's top lawyer works for the firm; and thus "omg, the president is spending a mill on us is born". Of course, this is all based on a loose network of associations that has never been thoroughly researched and verified and remains the equivalent of classroom gossip, but HEY, since when are evidence and FACTS good for the extreme right (I also have to say the same for the extreme left, to be fair) 2. The only difference between the COLB and the long-form one are minutae like the exact hospital and doctor that oversaw the process, so unless Dr. Satan was the doctor in charge of performing the operation, there is nothing to be gained from it. 3.
