How does that solve the problem of NOT wanting children while still experiencing sex at it's most intimate... and with regularity...? He should look into getting a vasectomy....unfortunately, it's the best option so far for 99% pregnancy prevention... and if he changes his mind down the line.... he can undergo a reversal... although, I'm not sure what the success rate is currently... It too has it's own side-effects... There really is no side-effect free solution to pregnancy prevention... which is incredible considering all our technological advancements, as well as our medical advancements...
This thread is actually a pretty good contraceptive with all the "medical articles" trolltown keeps posting.
SacTown, I wanted to add a purely anecdotal perspective. My own experience in the late 1960's and early 1970's, when I got into relationships with women who were already on the Pill, and women who were not, but started taking the Pill after I met them, is that the Pill had no affect on their libido at all. In fact, if anything, their libido increased, because they no longer had to worry about getting pregnant. They did not suffer from vaginal dryness, maintained a very healthy interest in sex, and certainly didn't become depressed. I think there is a temptation to generalize about any topic, and we are seeing a bit of that here. Sure, the girls I dated, some for over a year, may have been exceptions, but it is interesting to me that every one of them fit that "exception." Again, the Pill isn't for everyone. Never has been. For many women, however, it is a great solution to their concerns about not becoming pregnant, and is one that has beneficial side effects for many of them, in my experience.
