I got my copy last night at 24 Walmart in Cypress. Played my brains out until 4 in the morning and all I can say wow this game rocks. It has the ability to capture you and keep you on the edge for hours. Nothing is repetitive because you keep getting new plasmid and then try to figure how to use them in different way. Big Daddy can be a pain to kill the first time you spot one. These dudes are some serious badass that will kill you with only a few blows if you aren't very careful with your tactics. The graphics are absolutely amazing. Water effects are beautiful throughout the game and later on some large set pieces are an absolute treat to the eyes. I only a 1/4 way through and I recommend to play it on hard mode the first time around because it makes the experience much more enjoyable. This will make you uses proper plasmid tactics and trap setting instead of run and gun which can get pretty boring very easily. The enemy AI is pretty smart and crafty the will figure out ways to corner you and even sometime trap you. Overall I love this game and it's has been the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had in a long time. This is on par with the first time I played GTA 3 on my PS2 and was completely blow away. Bioshock has that kind effect on you. If you have a 360 then this is most own title period! Go out and get one.

Oh, I picked up bioshock this morning and I can't wait to get to my friends to play it. it looks awesome.
i hate jumping to conclusions about games before they come out...but after just watching a 20 minute clip and having the producer talking about the game i was hooked. Thing looks outrageous and fun. i need a new computer so i can actually play it...i think mine will explode if i try
it looks cool, but lack of multiplayer is shying me away from it. what happens when you beat the game? need some xbox live action.
get achievements, there are multiple endings based on what you do in the game.. harder mode.. i kinda wish there was some multiplayer also though. but i think the sp is good enough to warrant a buy.. or ATLEAST a rent.
For those of you that want to buy BioShock for the 360, Circuit City is selling it for $49.99....that's $10 off regular price...and yes, it's for the Xbox 360. I just saw it in this week's ad. This game is a game of the year contender.
So far so good with bioshock only played through the 1st level before I left to work as a matter of fact I'm stuck at the entrance of the medical pavilion I cant open the gate or break into the two doors jamming the robot on the ground. Any tips???? By the way I purchased the game from fry's for 49.99.
I am interested, but I'm not sure how much help I could be. I'll probably be busy with school, although those are my "light" days. Still, I don't think my schedule would make it easy for me to be there on the 5th, and I could probably only be there for a little while in the afternoons for the next two days (mostly on the 6th). My free time starts about the time that most of the sessions are over, judging by the schedule on their website anyway. You can email me through the BBS if you want. Plus, if you support the developer by getting this game, a sequel becomes more likely. And IIRC, Irrational acted like they would definitely have multiplayer in a possible sequel (or at least consider it). They were too busy focusing on the single player campaign to put it in this game, although it seems as though a lot of people appreciate the extra focus they dedicated to SP.
if unreal tournament comes to xbox360 that would be amazing. wasnt there a thread about that? i remember seeing my friend play that on his pc back in the day, game was sweet.
I'm fairly certain that Unreal Tournament 3 is coming out on XBox Also, how much better does Bioshock look on an HDTV? I have it hooked up to an old 27" because I have internet connectivity in this room, but not in the room with my HDTV.
This is the first game since next gen has come out that has me wanting to buy a machine. This game just sounds awesome.
Yeah, Unreal Tournament 3 is definitely coming to the 360 sometime next year (similar to how another UE3.0 game may make it to a different system next year ), although it could be a bit gimped in some aspects (partly why it was delayed).
