George Marshall by Debi and Irwin Unger

How have I never read this? Thanks.

If OP is cool with autobiographies: I Had A Hammer (Hank Aaron) is outstanding.

I'm a real apologist for Walter Isaacson biographies.

I thought his Einstein biography was really solid and surprisingly readable. And I've heard the same thing about his newer one on Doudna and the CRISPR technology.

Sorry I'm so sciency, but Rosalind Franklin: The Dark Lady of DNA is pretty cool too.

    Non-sciency:
Catherine the Great, by Robert Massie, a great read.

    Autobiographies count?

Mike Reiss’ “Springfield Confidential” is a hilarious read. It had me snorting in laughter.

It’s about the Simpson’s, but he talks a lot about his career as a writer.

Good call, thanks for reminding me to read about people living in our times! My reading tends toward people who were dead before I was born.

Have you read the Oppenheimer one, American Prometheus? Won the Pulitzer. Probably more politics than science, though.

I guess we need to read up, bc Christopher Nolan is making a movie about him.

Starring Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow in DK)
Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr too
