Absolutely agree. I labeled Amen as a future superstar the first time I saw him play. Tari has surprised me with how much he has improved. The Jalen contract is not catastrophic, it was just ill-conceived. Amen will be a max player for the Rockets. Sengun will be a max player soon enough. If Jalen doesn’t get his act together, the Rockets will be very aggressive in the off-season to try and find his replacement. Unfortunately, I think Booker is the only plausible star target and the Suns seem pretty adamant that they are going to ride it out with Durant and Booker. We will probably end up with a stop gap shooter at the deadline. If we are serious about the playoffs this year, Amen should be starting.

i dont need to read article again
    i comprehend
    i know what bima saying
i said it is not practically impossible to trade jalen at the deadline
it is improbable but not impossible
there are many combinations available to trade jalen depending on what direction teams want to go

we need to pursue another great draft pick
    sounds crazy i know
but giannis is not the answer
    butler is not the answer
    harden is not the answer
there are no superstar answers to send this team to the next level

the answer is to position ourselves to get another great youngster by merging some of the young talent in a trade to get higher in the draft

    the truth is

    jalen was drafted before ime
    jalen does not fit ime
jalen is a poor defender and a bad spot up shooter and a ballhog
    he does not fit

it is simply a matter of when not if we trade him
and a matter of who or what we send out with him and what we get back for him

jalen contract has value to teams that want to escape the tax or move down on the tax scale
and he's got a fixed cost for 2 seasons after that
plus he's got possible superstar upside
but it's westbrook style upside so a team will have to want to let him play with the keys and see what he can do in that position
some team needs to let him be their point guard similar to how we played knucklehead kpjr
we aint got time for dat

a team could trade for jalen contract to save major tax dollars at the deadline
then flip him to a rebuilder after the season for whatever value they can get for him
at this point any asset or cap advantage we can get out of jalen trade will be worth it
because he is not going to work here wrong skillset for what ime is building

it is a matter of when not if jalen is traded
you need to watch the deadline
i am not predicting a trade
but there is a significantly greater chance than zero that he gets traded at the deadline

the only superstar players that would possibly be the answer here are luka tatum wemby ant sga cade franz book
none of the are available for trade nor will they be in 2025 save for possibly book

all the other superstars are either old and beat up or their skill set does not match us
    and that includes durant
he is old and beat up
if we get him with book in a deal that would be ok
but we are not going to trade a bunch of assets for durant giannis or anybody else not named above

short of phx falling down and trading for book we are best served to push our asset pile further down the road and look for another great youngster in the draft and be able to trade up for that kid

jalen is going to be traded
    probably within a year

    The outgoing salary
i just dont see how he gets traded before july. i think he needs to be traded, but Stone screwed the opportunity before July. Utah is the onlt team in the league even close to their cap number and even they are under water. Jalen's outgoing number is 30m his incoming is less than 13m. the hoops the rockets and their trading partners would have to go through is extremely difficult to do. maybe impossible is somewhat hyperbole, but the likelihood of trading Jalen before July is very doubtful and is born morefrom frustration than reality. Takin on 30m for 13m is not a salary dumpfor the acquiring team.

I'm not advocating for this necessarily, but Jalen and FVV for Trae and Capela works, even with Jalen's poison pill. Trae's struggling a bit to start the season and they're rebuilding, so he's probably gettable.

That pair also works in a trade for Ingram and McCollum.

there is a reason no one has traded for Lavine. He is 47M for 3 years. No GM will touch it.

Seems pretty obvious that these extensions were at least guarantees that both Sengun and Green would be here for THIS season at least. It’s the last year of the no pressure era. Our goal for this season is just making the play in so no need to go star hunting.

that all changes next year since we have to make decisions on Fred and Jabari while cementing what the core of a championship caliber team should be.

Nobody is going to trade us a lottery pick in this upcoming draft and probably not in the Boozer draft. If we build through the draft it will because Stone pulled another Sengun or Tari out of his hat. In no world, do we get a top 3 pick in this draft. You hurt your credibility when you listed Cade as a superstar. He may be better than Jalen, but he isn't close to being a star no matter what the media and the NBA try to sell you. Lavine as a trade target is laughable whether it is possible or not. Chicago would have to give us several unprotected picks and Lavine to even entice the Rockets for half a second. It is much more plausible that we make a trade for Jalen insurance like Brogdon, Herro or even Duncan than taking a huge gamble on Lavine.

That's the point. It will never make sense.

Zach Lavine is 29 years old injury prone and misses the whole season with a broken leg, bad knees, bad feet. Zach is declining in Athleticism.

    Zach is closer to retirement.

We don't have to respond anymore. DD has declared he is just going to watch and enjoy the rest of the season.

    Jalen, right? Superstar...
This coming from a guy who's disturbed by the popularity Sengun's enjoying.
Sure, baby. Whatever wets your panties.
