Got treated like a cheap prostitute too many times when he didn't deserve it.

    He is not Mike James.

It's also just anger. Nothing has been wrong with the teams he's been with, yet he's always the first one to go.

Remember when the Rockets traded Battier? He didn't seem to happy about it either.

I perfectly understand their personal perspective, and would probably feel the same way, but let's not forget that they are very well-compensated and the way their contracts are structured. They are employees of the league and the system is designed so that they can be traded without themselves determining where they will go.

Can't they at least bid a minimum salary?

That's a huge gain for a player of Billups caliber whether he likes it or not.

Billups has been screwed over by whiny superstars and now most likely waived because of Chandler being signed. I can't blame him for not wanting trash teams to pick him up. He wants to win a championship on a good team. It's not like he doesn't have money to fall back on if he retires because a trash team picked him up.

He's basically saying that if a team that he doesn't want to go to picks him up, he's going to act like a dick. To my knowledge, there isn't really anything in the NBA Player Code of Conduct that outlaws acting like a dick. So I don't think there'd be any way to punish Billups for saying what he did. I could be wrong though.

good for him. You can only take so much before you get tired of the same old stuff. he's been traded left and right like an afterthought. at his age, why would you want to go to a rebuilding team to be a glue guy? he knows he doesn't have much time left, so the logical choice would be to go to a contender.

I'd bid the veteran minimum. If he doesn't like it he can retire or he can spend the next season at home separated from the team.

all i hope is that he do not end up at Lakers. He will be more "Fisher" than Fisher himself.

The Cavs need to pick him up just to cockblock Miami from getting him. Would LOL if that happened.

I don't see anything wrong with what he did. He's doing teams a favor by saying this. If say, the Wizards, are planning on picking him up with hopes of him resigning there afterwards, now they know they can move to the next guy instead.

He just said he wants to have a chance to go at the Knicks(maybe with miami). I hate the heat, if he goes there though, that would be pretty scary to have a veteran pg who can control and brign the best out of those stars, hold his own on defense, and spread the court and hit big shots. THen they are literally one big away from being the most dangerous 5 in a long time.

He is right in his criticism of knicks. Dantoni always relies on his pgs to create and penetrate for everyone, right now the best guy at penetrating on that roster is Carmello, there will be some issues. They hsould go for an undervalued PG who can run things like Dragic, Ridnour or someone that is attainable and in their price range, and also a good passer/shooter

    Billups reminds me of Cassell
    The Comsumate professional
    being
a nice guy though . . .you do sometimes end up finishing last

Cassell did NOTHING but produce his whole career.
Most would not vote him a Hall of Famer
He played nice and went to *****ty team after *****ty team
and made them into relevent teams . . . .
at the end .. . you just don't wanna be a part of rebuilding anymore

Waahhhh! Even Eli Manning managed his undesirable situation better than this.

First the Super Buddies in Miami. Then Dwight saying he was "Really hurt" when the Lakers were celebrating on Orlando's home court in '09 (so go out and work your ass off you p***y).

    Now Billups acting unprofessional.

What was the point of the new CBA? Players should shut the hell up and play ball.

The point of the new CBA is to increase owners share of BRI from 43 to 50%. Get it?

If they wanted to ban players from being uppity, they should have asked for it. But money was more important to the owners.

I'd also point out... Cassell got traded to the Nets. And then, as a free agent, re-signed there. He got traded to Milwaukee - and signed a contract extension there. He got traded to the Clippers, and re-signed there as a free agent. He never seemed to be upset with where he was.
