He's influenced about 10 million skinny white kids in the suburbs to buy his albums

Exactly, the top 5 albums are most often not even close to the best 5 currently out...I think some of the last year's top 5's will look even worse in ten years.

    boomboom,

What's wrong with Skinny Puppy, in your opionion? Dig It is one of my all-time favorite songs.

It was mid-late 80's and I was listening primarily to the Smiths, Depeche Mode, New Order, and (old school) rap. (weird mix, huh). I just didn't like their sound at the time and I've never given them a second chance since. I will give "Dig It" a listen though and see what I've been missing.

By the very nature of things, musical tastes are an individual matter. You may still hate Skinny Puppy even if you give them another try (I don't like some of what they did). It's a little "heavier" than The Smiths, New Order, Depeche Mode, etc... I have to be in the mood for it. Actually, I don't even have anything by Skinny Puppy anymore (haven't for about the last 12 years or so). I do, however, still have some stuff by The Smiths and New Order, and almost bought something from Depeche Mode just last week, but opted for Front 242 instead.

Traj...Front 242...great choice. I sorta liked them back then and stopped listening to them for a while. Now I've gone back and listened to all of their music and can't believe how much I like it. Neon Judgement is another group that I did the same thing with.

Now...if only The Dead Milkmen's other music was as cool as "b****in' Camero"...:D

I like one album off of each of those lists (Pearl Jam, Sarah McLachlan, and DMB). I would imagine many people would like one album off of each list, but no always the same ones I picked.
