I disagree that counseling would "definitely not have helped." There's no way he could have known that. He should have given psychiatric sessions a try before he kicked the bucket.
Basically he forgot to start off with, I know this is cowardly act and that there are 1000' upon 1000's of folks around this world who has had a more horrific, traumatic, depressing life than the one I have lived.. And currently there are young kids as early as a baby who are being raped as we speak and will live a life of darkness for years to come. I for one cannot think of anyway to live/escape the horrors of my past. So I will kill myself after years of trying to find a solution (either through Therapy,Work,Love,etc,etc.)... The End... I know I'm the major minority here and it might seem I have no heart but please don't take it that way. For Me: He was coward who doesn't realize the gift he has.. He's able to touch a lot of the folks through here and around the net through a letter. Can you imagine if he came out and explained to what happened to him while still living that he might be a beacon of light for others who are having the same issues? A lot of time when folks have these types of problems they don't need therapy but someone who has gone through the same SH@%.. Yes folks it is happening as we speak right now and like this guy Bill hopefully won't end there life but realize they have a chance to escape it... He just stopped looking for an answer... So what if it has taken him 5,10,15,20 years of looking.. Look harder buddy because there are people who has had it worse and will have it worse... I will continue this post but I have to head to work
must be nice to live in a completely black and white world. let me ask you...were you raped when you were 3. is being raped your first memory? if not, shut the **** up please.
Can someone summarize this post for me? *edit: nvm, grooglie already did. **edit: since grooglie decided to be a bigger man about it, I'll have to take his place in the matter. tested911, you're a dick.
No he isn't.....what he said had a lot of merit to it. What happened to Zeller is terrible, but him writing a letter about it was a plea for help. And he tossed his parents under the bus forever, they can never talk to him or reconcile.... While we have not all walked in his shoes (thank God), he should not be praised for killing himself.... There are lots of people that have endured way worse and come out as product human beings....killing himself is not an admirable way out. DD
you don't ridicule someone who took their own life when they've been haunted from the outset due to someone raping them. his first memory, dd. a ****ing rape. yet that d******d wants to hide behind his computer and talk **** about this person. yeah, he's a dick alright.
Groog, I am not commenting on his first memory, I am commenting on what he said about the fact that it should not be celebrated. And writing a letter about it, and tossing folks under the bus, will scar others for life, that is not selfless, that is selfish. DD
I read some comment earlier in here that said he was a hero......I think he was a seriously troubled man, who took a path that was easier than trying to deal with the demons and his issues. This is what I am talking about, he is NO hero. DD
i think maybe you should check your sarcasm meter. regardless, tested911's post didn't even mention caseyh's. it's a clutchfans broken record. i bite my tongue in most of them.
I know, but that is my context etc......and if Casey was being sarcastic then I feel like a bass with a giant hook in my mouth. So, a difference of opinion about this makes someone self righteous? I wish the guy got help, I mean how many of us have ANY memories of something that happened when we were 3? Either way, to toss his parents and ex girfriend under the bus with no way for them to talk about this with him was a selfish move. I just hope it doesn't inspire others to do something similar....... DD
I think the guy's argument was that it's more selfish to force people to live miserable lives. And I think that has some merit.
Your opinion (or at least tested911's opinion, which it looks like you support) is judgmental and self-righteous, so, in this case, yes.
So you judging others opinion are not? I am judging what he wrote in the letter, and how he left some things on people's plates selfishly, IMO. Again, initial reaction was..."What a tragedy"....a horrible horrible tragedy..... DD
Didn't know anything about him, but that was pretty heart wrenching to read. Knowing how much pain he was suffering. Hopefully he is in a better place.
You're not the one who killed yourself. Don't think you're going to get a lot of sympathy over someone pointing out the judgmental, self-righteous nature of your comments.
