no, that's not great commentating, that's a mental patient screaming like someone stepped on his foot.. a good color commentator doesn't have "attituuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudezzz!" orgasms when someone dunks.. the PbP guy gets excited/goes insane a little bit, and the color guy offers insight (see: "he sucked the gravity, right outta the building!" and the ensuing color commentator's comments) I would take Clyde over Calvin ANY day of the week, at least Clyde makes me laugh with his idiotic thoughts and poignant giggles.. Calvin is my man on the court, but he should stick to NOT doing anything in radio/TV because he sucks at it and he comes across as extremely fake and superficial.. ~ducks for cover
I don't know why it is, but that's one of the things I like about him. That, and I like his voice. Overall, Frazier is my favorite of all the commentators I've heard on league pass. Van Gundy is easily my favorite announcer for nationally televised games. I do however like Worrell. Like someone mentioned he's just part of Rockets basketball. I also prefer Bull to Clyde (except when Clyde says things that are so over the top stupid that you bust out laughing).
what i really like about him is that he is so unbiased...he doesn't bring controversial issues from outside the court onto the court...he just calls the plays with enthusiasm...and he's great at it...
drexler sucks. bill is good but he does miss a lot of calls nowdays. especially rebounds. it's like he expects the rockets to get all rebounds and when they don't he gets a little hateful. kind of annoying maybe 1-2 years left max.
