its obviously drexler's intelligence rubbing off on him..or rather the lack thereof.. Drexler is only good for making the deke impersonations, otherwise whatever comes out of his mouth is either a direct repeat of bill worrell or the same thing worrell says in a different order.
Spot on! My favorite commentator is also Frazier, I like Gus Johnson too but Frazier is the one for me. Frazier is a good commentator, as far as I know Knick-fans like him alot too as a commentator and to please both your own team's fans and the opponents fans ain't something you hear alot of so cred to Frazier and Gus.
He makes Deke sound like he's from the Carribbean... with all the 'hey mon!' junk. Clyde's momma can barbque, tho...and makes some good garlic mashed potatoes. so he gets a pass.
I'd put Matt Bullard and Calvin Murphy together....bill can go with cylde... Bill was a good commentator..but he's getting dumb down by Clyde LoL...yeah sometimes it gets annoying but for the forgetting name, its not his fault, i mean he is an old man, i am not old sometime i forgets name too...
The most memorable Worrell/Calvin exchange (well...one of them): (After a pretty amazing Hakeem dream-shake) Calvin: Hakeem! Movin' and groovin'! Shuckin' and duckin! Bill: oh no....Im back on the streets again.
bill is really getting old and having clyde as his broadcasting partner doesn't help either. he's pretty good most of the time when he's with bull, though. both of them are big time homers but at least they give credit where credit is due and they call it like they see it. i really like that and i think that makes the rockets' broadcasting team to one of the best in the league. i just wish clyde would retire from commentating. or if that's not an option then at least let bull join him and bill like they do when they aren't on fsh.
Yeah, I've noticed it too. Sometimes when I get bored I'll make a point to correct all the little mistakes he's started making. But hey, the guy's getting old; he's entitled to have senior moments. He's still a solid play-by-play man and I couldn't imagine having our commentary by anyone else.
bill is solid still. he's not a ridiculous homer--just somewhat. And he gives credit to other teams/players. He doesn't whine when things aren't going the Rockets' way. he makes mistakes, but he's nowhere near where Milo was his last couple of seasons...THAT's when you know it's time to go.
Don't mind Bill at all, and I like Clyde as well unlike most of you. The only thing that is embarrasing is that nervous laugh Clyde has after making a joke or statements.

bill has a good feel for the flow of a basketball game and after so many years, he just is rockets broadcasting. plus, as someone else mentioned, he still gets excited for the big moments down the stretch and you can tell he is genuinely excited. that counts for a lot. i do think clyde and bull have hurt him a little though. for example, he and calvin were always rooting for the rockets, but like the current lakers team, they could appreciate when someone was working us over. bill still sort of does but bull and clyde don't join him as much so he can't point it out as much. plus, bull is an enormous homer when it comes to the officials (he'll stare at a replay that obviously went our way and say it was a good call no matter what) and bill just goes along for the most part because what are you gonna do, argue with your color commentator? it seems like i remember bill and calvin typically trying to catch themselves complaining too much. i remember calvin seeing a replay where a bad call went our way at the end of a game and all he said was something like "well, i'm glad they called it, that's all i'll say." at least he knew when we got one. for what it's worth, i think bull and clyde are both better than when they first started. and apropos of nothing, how did we have cynthia cooper doing the studio show? has this ever been explained? i mean holy b**** on a ****stick, the primary thing you have to do is talk on camera and she couldn't talk on camera to save her life! if the job was beating a woman in basketball, i'm sure she'd do fine, but talking on camera wasn't going to work out and i have no idea how anyone thought it would.
Compared to the rest of the idiot annoucers around the league i'd take bill anyday. And bill is one of the things that make the rockets the rockets, juss like deke cheering on the sidelines. It wouldn't be right if he wasan't there.
when things are going good for the rockets, we turn our critique to the commentators...gotta love this forum
Walter "Clyde" Frazier: Calm, smooth, and knowlegeable. Yes, unbiased, that shows his professionalism. But I still like our Bill Worrell.
I'm Argentine myself and have done the research. In English, the Spanish form Argentina is used for the country, the parallel English form Argentine as demonym and general adjective. The adjectival forms of Argentinean or Argentinian are used in the United Kingdom; however, the Oxford English Dictionary lists Argentine as the correct demonym. (Argentinian is a demonym for the Argentine, an archaic name for Argentina, and hence a less direct derivation.)
