When Shaq can say he's won a championship without a 2nd star on the team, then he has the right to think he's a better player. As for the Walton/O'Neal fiasco, Walton is right: how can you say you're in the the best shape of your life and you're ready to play in Phoenix when the team that you were on was floundering and needed your help? If Shaq no longer wanted to play under Riley, he should have said so.
that has nothing to do with Shaq sucking in Miami and 'suddenly' feeling better in Phoenix and predicting championships. Bill is right, stop hating on the older players.
to the folks that got so up in arms about my post....i'll just quote a famous line used on wow forums "lol, he's pisssed" word of the day is insecure good day, and if i get banned so be it (i'm sure i'll just get the edit button then banned) peace
What does that have to do with what I said? You cant let what you've done in the past be an excuse for your actions now. Shaq decides to play hard when people are down on him, why not play hard all the time.
Bingo. Tinman has it right. Bill was never questioning his career, but his health problems during this season. If you do not think it's shady that all of a sudden he can practice and has championship aspirations, then I'm sorry you don't watch enough of the NBA or Shaq. Shaq has done this several times in his career. He is a big insecure baby. His response was 10x more insulting calling Bill Walton's career a hoax and fake because he actually had injuries that required surgeries etc. Shaq has such a huge ego that he can't take anything that will bring him down. Walton was just stating the obvious and what any real NBA fan would know is happening. Shaq's response was funny, but it had nothing to do with what Walton was saying. He just had to fall down to being funny about hating on Walton and look like he was funny while doing it.
Wait, this is wwfba and we are being played like chumps. Refs who help make the right wwfba champion. People who buy all the stuff. And reporters who stir the pot.
http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/108835 Suns notebook: Shaq fires back at ESPN analyst Walton He might not be ready to play NBA basketball yet, but Shaquille O’Neal is more than ready to post up Bill Walton in their recent war of words. Still angry over personal comments made by Bill Walton in his analysis of the trade that sent Shaquille O'Neal from Miami to Phoenix, Shaq loaded up a second round of volleys for the ESPN analyst -- who called Shaq's arrogance "an insult to people who think." "I've done more in three years than he's done in his whole career," said O'Neal, referring to his three-peat run with the Lakers. "I would like a little respect from this man. I don't understand where his comments are coming from, nor do I really care. "He criticized me for being injured ... he only had two full seasons in his entire career. One thing I hate in life is a hypocrite -- I hate them, despise them. So I would like a little respect when it comes to 'The Dominant Big Man's Club' "Him talking about me is like the owner of Atari talking about Bill Gates. You can't do it. The pecking order rules." ------------ Lol. That last line is great. I'm not going to waste my time doing anything but laughing at this "feud."
First Shaq said the code was 2257 then changed to 225127...wtf?! Sounds pretty cocky of Shaq, even though he's correct about the pecking order. But Walton was criticizing him for this season, NOT his career. I say Walton wins because Shaq got off track.
Newsflash: Nobody wins a championship by himself. Shaq did play a HUGE role in the Lakers 3 championships. Then he went to Miami and won one more. Nobody thought the Heat would win a title. NOBODY. If he thinks he is the better player, he has a good case for it.
