Due to his back problems Bill Walton has decided not to return to the broadcast booth for ESPN, Sports Business Daily reports.

I know many of you don't like Walton but I always enjoyed his commentary. He always had high praise for Dream.

In other news, another Barry is about to sit in the analyst's chair. Former Rocket, Brent Barry will become an analyst on NBATV's NBA Gametime.

If anyone watched the NBA playoffs in 94-95, they should be a huge Bill Walton fan

"Hakeem...the grace, the athleticism, the defense...just absolutely dominating on all ends of the court"

LOVED it and will always be a big Walton fan because of it...his commentary about Hakeem while watching Hakeem dominate was perfect

Truly a classical human being in the mold of Mozart and Chopin.

A bit biased towards the Lakers so I'm not a huge fan of him.

I like Doug Collins ok for his insights. Sometimes he oughta take a breath, though. Hubie Brown used to be great at explaining tactics, calling the inbounds play, etc-- I haven't heard him yet this year. Walton, sheesh, what a space cadet...

Definitely one of my favorite commentators along with JVG. Never understood the hate for him.

Sorry to hear his back is bothering him so much. His commentary had too much hyperbole for me.
