I'm still waiting for someone else to respond to him in Walton-ese. Walton: "Chris Kaman showing shades of Hakeem Olajuwon" Other announcer: "Bill Walton, with what may be the most labored analogy in the histroy of organized sports."
wow! nba shootout, Bill Walton pretty much said that Rick A is way better for Yao than JVG. Pretty much letting play Yao play a FULL GAME with low post and high post and show case his skill. I knew Walton doesnt like JVG's coaching, you can hear it in his tone.
It's funny that Walton is in the studio right now dissing his cohort that is getting ready to work the Nugz/Wiz game. Walton: (paraphrasing) "...which is why Adelman is so much better for the Rockets than Jeff Van Gundy, whose only answer for his team when facing adversity was to try harder. No, you have to have adjustments..." Ouch
on his own he wouldnt be very good, but he is an excellent color commentator. is there anyone else whose love for the game is so obvious? he is just so enthusiastic about his job - how can you not like it? i liken him to calvin in that respect. i love listening to both of those guys. plus, you need the cut-up out there sometimes or the guy who is going to say something random and silly - you may not like him, but you need bill walton out there - it would be like public enemy w/out flava flav!
I'm here to prove you wrong. I'm pretty indifferent to Walton. I sometimes find him a bit annoying, but no more so than Tom Tolbert or, hell, even Clyde Drexler.
bill walton has gotten better thru the years so to me I like him because it seems like he works to get better at what he does, which is entertain
I used to think Walton was annoying with his stupid stories, but his personality and sarcasm kind of grew on me. I'd choose him over the bland hacks or idiots like Tom Tolbert who don't know they aren't funny.
i thought it was funny when we booed him. seriously though, i like how he gives Hakeem a shout out. i just dont think hakeem gets his due props.
