As long as he's healthy. We don't need another max guy sitting on the bench.

He doesn't have an issue with the PnR, he has an issue with only running the PnR (D'antoni doesn't believe in post ups), and he was still top 10, even in his injured state, and that's despite there not even being a guard on the Lakers that is any good at the PnR any more.

Dwight Howard will certainly not see himself as 2nd option in Houston. The conversation will end right there if that's even brought up.

This. Dwight is the man in the arena, the man with the ability. His job is to entertain people and make money doing it. Simmons is a sports commentator, living vicariously through people like Dwight.

He has to make things like Dwight a big deal or else face the fact that what he does is pathetic and meaningless in comparison.

hell no! there is NO WAY he would be okay being the second option in houston. he's barely okay with that in LA even though the first option is kobe. i highly doubt he's be okay playing second option to james harden.

he wants to be THE MAN - like shaq, like all dominant big man that doesn't depend on pnr to score. he doesn't like pnr, that's why he doesn't like playing in d'antoni system. our offense will be completely different if he's here, a lot less pnr, a lot less running, and our scoring will go down because of the slower pace. doesn't mean it's a bad thing; it is what it is.

I really don't think Harden will have a problem taking a back seat. We are very capable of being an inside-out team. A richer man's 2009 Magic team.

Wouldn't this be a GOOD thing? If the Rockets had Scolandry, Artest, Brooks, Lowry, etc. back when T-Mac and Yao both were uninjured, they would've been contenders.

T-Mac to me was the best move in CD's GM career.

dwight howard is a P.O.S. lacking in character and anything resembling a go-to move...who does not deserve to follow in the footsteps of moses or the dream or yao....just say no to this child..

There is no way we should do a sign and trade with the Lakers for D12. We either sign him outright or we do not sign him at all. I am not giving up Asik (Dwight backup plan) and Parsons for Dwight. That is just stupid.

Our plan should be to sign D12 directly (i am starting to think it is possible) and then try to lure Chris Paul (and the sign a trade with the Clippers - there I am willing to give up Asik and Parsons).

Dwight indeed got better after the All-star break. Didn't the Lakers have the best record?

    J13, D12, CP3!!!

I think Simmons analysis of Dwight's decline over the past 4 years and comparing it to other top centers of this era is particularly enlightening. History suggests that he will never regain the physical dominance that he had earlier in his career, and that was the best reason to get him. Yes, he improved during the 2nd half of the season, but he was nowhere close to his Finals form. If he were available for a reasonable price, I'd make the offer, but he's wanting the max and he's just not worth it anymore.

I think the Rockets should stick with Asik and see if they can pry Al Horford away from Atlanta. Horford would finally play his natural position PF and would be a great compliment to our current team.

What do people even mean by 2nd option though? He's basically going to have the interior all to himself, and i don't see him stepping out to the 3 pt line to take people off the dribble. Harden has his moments, but he's neither as ball dominant, nor as inefficient as Kobe.

About clearing enough cap room for Dwight Howard.

I think Defino and Brooks will be let go before June 30th.

Robinson $3.5 million will be traded for an early second round draft pick.

Why a second round? Because they do not count against the cap until signed (unlike a first rounder) and the contracts can be structured to be non-guaranteed giving the Rocket's flexibility.

CP3 is likely to stay with the Clippers as they just fired coach Del Negro.

Reports out of Dallas also indicate Dallas has given up on chasing CP3 because they believe he will stay with the Clippers.

As a player with knee issues, the extra year guaranteed money the Clippers can give him is hard to turn down.

CP3 is calling the shots in Clipperland and will probably have a big say in the next coach (an african american?)

On June 30, 1st or 2nd round doesn't really matter whether it counts against the cap, since it would be for next year's draft (draft is on june 27)

He was playing with the best initiator of the PandR...and he really didnt like that..With Lin, and Harden on this team, why do you think that wouldnt be a requirement for Howard...we all must be smoking something...Howard might have spurned us last summer, but the Rockets dont need to do him any favors either...he can just rot in LAL...and the dead carcass of failure can be a reminder to all about the honest fact...the Lakers are dying and are in need of Howard to carry them over...

If anything they should consider, just tanking next year, and go for the #1 pick...Wiggins(we all know the Lakers will get the #1 pick if they are in the lottery next season...just imho...)

Fire your coach to save your franchise player sound more like desperate move instead of good move.

This move seems to me is that Clippers is showing that CP3 is not happy about the current situation and they have to do something about. So they fire their coach, and give CP3 the so-called "decision making ability", but is that enough, as Clippers and media is making it out to be, or does CP3 really want that instead of playing for a good management team and decent teammate.
