It's more fun reading this than watching all star events.

That story about Jordan getting pwned by his wife is awesome.

Oh, and for the rest of it - lighten up you hayseeds. So Bill simmons is whining about traffic. Who cares?

    Simmons is correct and accurate.

Houston isnt the greatest city in the world to visit. its a cheap place to live compared to other cities, but as a visitor, its not that good.

think about it, its not very scenic. its for married people with kids who like the subburbs. unless you live in river oaks, memorial, west u, the sugarland area where destiny's child and the nba players live, then its not very good. the rest is just urban sprawl.

especially now with the neworleans thugs running the crime rate up. getting fat is correct, houston is a great place for food.

look i bleed rockets red, doesnt mean i think that houston the city is great. no offense to people who live there or matt bullard, but who the hell wants to live in the woodlands?

now vegas on the other hand, will have a superior nba all star atmosphere!

Okey, he thinks Western center of coaches' choice is the worst, and the center of fans' choice is the second worst. Maybe that smart ass attention w**** can give us a few good centers of his choice. TD, KG and Dirk, what if those big guys are too chicken to play centers, and just want no contact jump shots?

If he tought Houston was bad....he's lucky he didn't run into me, I would have funked him up.

What's funny is that this is a hate article, not against a person but an entire city...a hate article either way.

I can't believe ESPN let him post this crap.

Why wouldn't you want to live in The Woodlands? Compared to the area's that you mention above:

    - It's cleaner.
    - There is virutally no crap anywhere around.
    - There is tons of shopping and restuarants.
    - The traffic on 45 is much better than any other freeway (in my opinion)
    - The public schools are actually good.
    - Its safe.

Of course, I'm biased because I grew up in The Woodlands and live their now. Honestly, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the Houston area.

I also agree with the rest of your post though. Houston does suck (in some ways) and I'd much rather live somewhere else but my kids are here so I'm stuck for now. I can't wait to move somewhere else.

I don't hate Houston by any stretch of the imagination and I know there are some really positive things about living here. I also know that there are other places that are really cool and I want to experience that.

oh, they do it all the time. bill simmons cracks on virtually every city he visits. so does about 85% of the media in this country assigned to cover any event out of their hometown.

That's why I loved John McClain's article during the Super Bowl ripping the idiots who do that.

**** you Bill Simmons. There are thousands upon thousands of sports fans who'd love to do the job you're doing. The fact that you have the audacity to whine about covering a freaking NBA all-star game, a Super Bowl, and an MLB all-star game is absurd.

I completely understand b****ing about having to cover the Galleryfurniture.com Bowl, however.

I just sent that b**** a long message. I hope he reads it, and loses his job, and has to relocate his family to houston.

For out of towners, Houston's a terrible place to visit. But it's a good place to raise a family, I suppose.

I agree the woodlands is good community to live in and the houses are nice, but if you like to go around town, its really far from everything. say you have a friend in sugarland. that's like an airplane flight.

houston is great for sports events, but what else are you going to do? they got rid of astroworld. i guess you can go to papadeauxs and treasures or shop at the galleria. the downtown scene is ok, if you are into the drunk yuppies scene.

So, is Dallas or San Antonio a better place to live? ;) I am trying to get a job in Texas and want to be close to NBA action.

Houston is better than Dallas and San Antonio.
Unfortunately Dallas and San Antonio have better baskteball teams :(
keep in mind, houston is mainly oil/gas companies.

Come on, it was funny and accurate on a lot of levels.

Houston traffic is ridiculous and the sprawl sucks. And the fat comment is actually a compliment. Houston is a great place to get fat. AWESOME food, but no one gets any exercise because they have to drive anywhere. The people are extremely cool but lately there has been some sketchy stuff going on. He knows LA sucks, too.....but LA hasnt had any major events worth noting lately, have they?

However, just by reading his take on strip clubs, its obvious when he goes to strip clubs, he doesnt quite understand what goes on there. This "chair armada" he's talking about.....thats something the strippers build when they are up to no good.
