It would be the best deal of the century for Rockets, but NO are not that stupid to let it happen.

I think people are missing the boat on the whole idea if this were to happen at all. This isnt nba live or 2k9 , but this is hpw deals could work.

    Houston
    Paul-13.7m 4yrs
    posey-6.0m 3yrs
    chandler-11.8m 2yrs
    Maggette-8.9m 4yrs
    Turiaf-4.1m 3yrs

    NO
    Mcgrady-23m-1yr
    Scola-3.3-1yr
    Battier-6.8m 2yrs
    Brooks-2.0m-2yrs

    GSW
    Stoiakovic-14m-2yrs
    Cook-3.5m-1yr
    + 1st rd pick

That would put houston's payroll at 70m. They could use the lle on someone like Barnes to have a 2/3 rotation of Posey,Maggette,Barnes,Barry, and White. Lowry backs up paul at pg. Chandler,Landry,Yao,Hayes, and Turiaf are the frontline players. The rockets get younger, longer, and more athletic.

This would drop NO down to 66m with the expring contracts of tracy, and luis. Shane can play with wright or peterson and scola can play center or west. Brooks is the young cheap talent.

For gsw, they get shorter contract in peja,a expiring in cook, and a pick. They save years off maggette's deal and nelson always like a shooter like peja no matter if he's off the bench or not. It can be done and everyone is happy, its just a matter of if.

^^^ They say if the deal doesn't hurt then it probably wasn't a good trade

And that deal stings a lot lol.

I'm guessing you are drunk or high. Posey is equal or upgrade to Battier? Pssshh please. Plus Posey is a dirty punk.

but one would also have to think about our wing defense taking a hit. Posey is not even close to Battier's level of D...

I got two words, 2 rings. Go and watch posey off the bench in boston and in miami on those title runs. Yes, he's dirty, what wrong with that? He does everything shane does for the same price plus he has 2 rings. Now if you take another player playing right on the line personal, that's being feministic in your thinking.

I guess you didn't watch posey's defense in the finals or even through his career. Posey is a very, very good defender.

Houston is getting raped in this deal. The people that act like it's a landslide in our favor need to wake the hell up.

This deal puts us behind NOLA and SA in the division (maybe even Dallas).....especially after Yao goes down. The trade value here isn't even close to being fair. We're trading solid pieces (some excellent pieces) to our team for one allstar and a bunch of bad contracts that keep us from acquiring any type of talent or depth needed to compete for the foreseeable future, by the time we're out from underneath those contracts Yao is a shell of himself

People are just looking at the name "Chris Paul" and they're blowing their loads without thinking straight. Teams reach the finals and win titles.....not Chris Paul, a may or may not be healthy Yao, and a bunch of players past their prime. I'd rather move Tmac's contract and another piece and add to what we're already building....not blow everything the hell up.

If and only if the amount of talent we're sending over decreases will I even think about doing this trade.

Not as good as Battier. Battier is a MUCH BETTER man to man defender.

I'm so tired of people bringing up rings when they talk about bench players.....Battier wins 2 damn rings with those teams also.

This is funny. How is houston getting raped if they get the 3rd or 4th best player in basketball bu giving up a expiring and role players? That 3rd or 4th best player is 24 also.

1.) Deal does not work for Golden State, capwise.

2.) Deal sounds silly for Golden State, talentwise. 4 years of Maggette at 40 million vs. 2 years of Peja at ~30 million is a horrendous tradeoff. Maggette is still in his prime while Peja is coming off an awful, injury riddled year -- on the margin, that's a 2 year, 10m contract for Maggette which virtually everyone would consider to be a steal. Not to mention the Turiaf for Cook tradeoff.

3.) We don't have an LLE next year (now know as the Bi-annual exception). We used it on Barry last year.

LOL, so when Kobe starts.....you wouldn't want Battier starting to guard him.

Okay, lets put Artest on him who clearly lost a step defensively....the guy got murked by Roy everytime we switched Artest on to him....same with Kobe.

I had no problem with Battier starting here.

It does work for gsw because all they're doing is excahnging peja's 14 m for rony and maggette's 12m.12-14 is within 25% of each other. Even if the rox don't have the lle, they have the mle and they also have about 4 te's they could use for players. What i'm saying is that u could move peja for 2 players if needed. It could be 2 7m players or look at a team like toronto which is under the cap. He could be move for a player worth 11m or 11m worth of contracts.

I honestly don't even no why people are talking about this, because there's no way in hell Morey pulls the trigger on this type of deal......it goes against every philosophy he believes in. Giving away our most valuable contracts (value is the level a players playing at for how much they're getting paid) for a bunch of players who can no longer sniff the level of their contract simply isn't going to happen so some of y'all should just get over it.

Morey since day one has done a good job at making this team very flexible (cap wise) and deep.......he's not pissing it away on a pipe dream that Paul is enough to put us over the top with Yao and a bunch of injury prone players..especially when his front court is getting demolished in the deal.....ain't happening.

I didn't watch last years finals.....I despise both Kobe and the Lakers and Boston (after the year long hoopla that was made about them meeting)

Much like I'm not going to watch this years finals if Kobe and LeBron face off (because of the year long hoopla that is being made about them meeting).

Too much of a coincedence and WWE to me....especially every all the crappy favorable calls I keep seeing. Right now I'm a Denver and Orlando fan only.....and some of the calls I saw tonight against Orlando made me sick.
