Spent the first 35 years of my life in Houston and summers just killed me every year. 95 degrees and 80% humidity every day. Shade hardly helps, it even stays hot all night and into the next morning for 6 months straight. Real glad I got out of there even though I'm still a fan of my Rockets & Astros.

It still gets plenty hot around the country in what is perceived to be moderate summer area(s). Albeit I would agree its a dry heat and the swamp ass factor is greatly reduced, but the winters can be so extreme that you almost have to be born in the area and lived there long enough to endure. That -5 or more type wind chill puts a freeze down into your bones. I'd much rather just pump the AC and jump into the pool to battle the summers here vs still experiencing 100 degree weather AND THEN blizzards every winter.

Houston IMO is positioned great geographically. Texans and road trips are synonymous anyways and me and my family are able to branch out into Colorado to hike 14ers, ski, river raft, or hug the Gulf all the way to the Emerald Coast in the FL panhandle for some of the most pristine beaches in the world. Closer to home the Hill Country has plenty to offer. Obviously Im biased and have no qualms with driving and would agree if people felt Houston proper had little to offer apart from dining and night life.

Houston summers can get annoying, but cold ass winters just suck…and some of these places take forever to warm up

it’s currently 38 degrees right now in Minnesota and 39 degrees in Chicago…Bro, we’re almost in May!

On top of that, players can go wherever they want during the offseason, so if this summer high humidity heat is not for them, they can just leave.

I’ll take hot summers over cold winters any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I lived in the Midwest for a while — dealing with ice and snow is the worst.

If we are discussing about where players hangout during the off-season I wish all our young guys just spent it at Denver with the mile high altitude and just trained there.

I mean climate was just one of a long list of reasons I left Texas. Biggest reason was I hated driving in Houston traffic, wanted to live somewhere I didn't have to drive for every damn thing. But yeah I like cold weather, 40 degrees with sun is a perfect day for me. Doesn't start really bothering me until it gets below 20. Guess you don't really know what kind of climate somebody is going to prefer.

what I hate most weather-wise is some moderate/cold climates that get very hot/humid in the summer and usually don’t have A/C. You cant’t sleep at night, sweating all the time, no relief…

If Jaylen Brown truly wants to come to Houston, everyone on our roster is available....and we should make it happen.

Lots of people are here because they can't deal with the winters anymore. Seasonal depression is a thing and it's unique. Like I hate LA weather. It's depressing to me. Same day every day over and over again. Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas and Summer doesnt feel like Summer. I like having cloudy days, rainy days, sunny days, etc. I've met people here that say they just couldn't deal with the winters anymore in the north. My whole family moved from Chicago for that reason.

Houston is an incredibly appealing city to a young wealthy black man so it's not a shocker that someone like Jaylen Brown would want to be here or why Harden would want to come back.

While i do agree that the driving condition is sht in cold weather, I actually prefer the cold. Being outside in the heat is awful and tiring if u are plan on walking around.
    Also lived in the midwest.

If we could trade Green, KJ and future picks for Brown...then we sign Harden, and trade for Capela (I think his market value isn't super high, and the Hawks might get swept by Boston).

    Capela / Sengun
    Jabari
    Eason / Tate
    Jaylen
    Harden / Scoot

This would be a versatile mix of youth/vets and offense/defense. We could run a Sacramento-esque offense when Sengun is in (with him playing Sabonis) and surrounding him with shooters and 3 attackers in Brown/Harden/Scoot. Then we can let Harden run the show with Capela otherwise (or run the O through Brown). We could go big or small in the backcourt, and run a bunch of different looks...plus Scoot can eventually take over for Harden.

I could get behind this. Maybe give up a tone of draft picks including this year’s no. 1 for Jaylen and keep Green. Green is going to be better than most people believe in my opinion. I think he has all the skill set of Ja Morant without the baggage.
