If we get Mangini, Mathews and Munchak that will be one epic staff. Almost awesome enough for me to forgive the Romeo hiring.
How is munchak and Matthews coaching resume more impressive than Romeo's? Guy had a top notch defense on Super Bowl teams
Can somebody recap all the coaches we have hired and what positions they fill on offense and defense please
Head Coach: Bill O'Brien Charles London(coached RBs at Penn State) Stan Hixon(coached WRs at Penn State) Defensive Coordinator: Romeo Crennel Defensive Line: Bill Kollar Linebackers: Mike Vrabel Defensive Backs: John Butler/Anthony Midget Strength & Conditioning: Craig Fitzgerald Special Assistant(?): Jim Bernhardt __________________________ Iowa OL coach Brian Ferentz was rumored to be coming but with them interviewing Mike Munchak, maybe he won't be coming. Patriots are still playing but keep an eye on Patriots assistant (TEs coach) George Godsey.
Our incomplete coaching staff is already better than any of the coaching staffs we've had since the inception of the team. Dare I dream that we are finally turning the corner? Munchak would be a wet dream as an o-line coach if we can land him. I bet he wants to stick it to the Titans twice a year
J.R. posted the statistics of his defense and they are not very impressive. We all watched those superbowls and know that was Brady, Vinatieri, and Belichick's camera man who deserve the credit for the trilogy of 3 point wins. I think Romeo still holds high respect is that Interim Coach stint with KC when they beat the perfect packers and showed a major turnaround. Unfortunately he immediately started sucking it up and ran them into the ground. Mathews was the Texans O-Line coach when they had the best line in the NFL, if he comes packaged with Munchak even better.
Bob Ligashesky was here(promoted after Marciano was fired); haven't heard anything on him one way or the other.
He's still on the website. The only 3 up there are O'Brien, Kollar, and Ligashesky. BTW, Kollar really needs to retake his photo. He looks confused.
I guess BL will stay. Basically confirming the above: http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexan...or/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Crennel, who was the head coach at Cleveland and Kansas City, is expected to be hired as defensive coordinator after he coaches in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday. The Texans haven’t announced any new assistant coaches. But O’Brien is bringing six assistants who coached with him at Penn State. He kept assistant head coach/defensive line Bill Kollar and hired Mike Vrabel from Ohio State to coach linebackers. Crennel will make nine assistants. Munchak would be 10. O’Brien would then have to hire an offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and tight ends coach.
