That will largely be determined by the team's depth, as the bench players make up the special teams core outside of a couple specialists.
Not much. Adam Wexler mentioned Bill Lazor (Eagles QB coach) yesterday. Supposedly the Redskins want to interview Lazor, but Chip Kelly denied that any teams have requested to interview Lazor. Alex Marvez mentioned George Godsey a couple days ago.

Name to watch for #Texans OC: Bill Lazor. We still need the most important positions filled.. DC and OC.. Theres rumors on the DC being Romeo Crennel but nothing confirmed.. I was really liking the idea of Tomsula (49'ers coach for DC), but seems like thats dead...

Tomsula may still be an option... Just hard for the Texans to probably meet with him right now because he's busy. But it's obvious to me O'Brien is looking for a guy who he can make the DC so he doesn't have to worry about the defense.

A bit more padding to the news. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...rennel-interviewing-with-texans-on-wednesday/
Am I the only one getting a stiff Wade Phillips vibe? Initially viable but slipping ever so closer to having the game pass them by? I just can't separate HC Crennel for DC Crennel - he looked so apathetic and confused in KC.............. Sorry; I want younger, more progressive (looking?) coaches. (Do I really mean thin?............. Am I struggling with their weight?...... And does that make me a terrible person? I think it does................. Thankfully, this was all internal monologue and I didn't post any of it....

You need to separate HC Crennel from DC Crennel. DC Crennel is good, hard working, stats driven, adjustment making, etc. HC Crennel is overwhelmed.
I'm confused. Is he saying Bill O'Brien might want Crenell's defense as opposed to Wade Phillips'? I don't get it. Phillips was fired. If he wanted Phillips' defense he would have kept him. Where is the "interesting" part? Caplan is a solid football guy so I'm guessing that I'm missing something. Otherwise - no ****, genius.
I know he's talking about Patriots 3-4 style compared to Wade's 3-4 style, but the interesting portion may be him possibly being stubborn in only settling for a DC that knows the Patriots style of 3-4 defense?... Just a guess on my part. IDK.
I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that current NFL coaches are not allowed to coach the East-West Shrine Game. Hiring Crennel could prevent him from coaching in that game. So it's possible that if we do hire him, it may not be until after the game which is on the 18th.
