I take it back. I guess it was a good idea to axe Kubes early if we land O'Brien.

If you find a coach that meets your hiring criteria, don't mess around. O'Brien is coveted.

Dear Lord. Penn state was a dead program after Sandusky. They were done. O'Brien righted the ship against all odds.

If O'Brien becomes our new coach wouldn't it stand to reason that he would give a good hard look at keeping Schaub ? Schaub was a very good pocket passer and maybe Kubiaks plays just became too predictable.

Which brings me to my next questions. How does Schaubs contract work? Can he be released and not suffer a big cap hit? Can we sign a solid offensive lineman or two with the money we save capwise from getting rid of Schaub? Maybe trade him to relieve ourselves of his contract?

If Schaub had any chance of staying, McNair wouldn't have made his Keenum comments.

    Follow
3 coaches during my scouting career that I would have "bet the farm" on were Bill O'Brien, Chris Petersen & Gary Anderson.

    Lance Zierlein @LanceZierlein
.@JohnMiddlekauff told me he would “bet the farm” on future success of Bill O’Brien after watching him operate in practice at PSU.

    John Middlekauff @JohnMiddlekauff
@LanceZierlein He is the total package IMO. Texans will have the best free agency acquisition in the NFL & it's not even January.

Yeah, you wonder why this would leak so early and before the final game tomorrow. Also, we know Smith is buds with Peter King, so why does Bristol get the scoop? Hopefully, the Texans get their man - whomever that is - and we can start worrying about who is being played for the draft and all the smoke/misinformation in that arena.

What does concern me is a tweet from John Harris (who knows Bill O'Brien):

Lifting my self-imposed twitter sanctions due to O'Brien to Texans rumors. I've said this all along, I'll believe it when I see it.
— John Harris (@jharrisfootball) December 28, 2013
