Doesn't he have enough freakin money? If you want the spam to stop then buy the software. There are ways around spam.
They are assuming this would stop spammers and if there is anything we have learned from spammers, it is that they adapt. This is a horrific idea because what happens if they charge and spammers still spam? So much for that idea. I doubt very seriously this will ever fly. Too many people utilize email for too many things on a daily basis. I send anywhere from 50-150 emails a day just for business (of course, I'm a web developer) and we have clients who send thousands every week. Nevermind the automated messages that go out for things like bulletin boards, etc. Plus, I have serious doubts that they could regulate it simply because you don't have to just send email through an email client like Outlook. You can use online mail systems that would be difficult to be traced. Mostly, I just don't understand the spam thing. I have SpamAssassin and good filters on my email. I probably SEE 30 or 40 every day. I'm sure 3 or 4 times that are deleted before they get to me. I just don't understand the frustration. Just delete the damn thing and move on. Oh, man, hitting that delete key is REALLY difficult. If this is the biggest thing we have to worry about, we've got WAY too much time on our hands. I know that it creates problems for networks because of the load on servers, but so does internet p*rn and I don't hear Bill Gates up there saying all p*rn should be removed from the internet.
