    That was the turning point in Hakeems career from a personal perspective. After that suspension and then the long talk with Charlie Thomas on the flight in the offseason, he found both himself and his religion.

    Then, the rest is history....

    Odd the Sleepy Floyd release and trade for Mario Elie isnt on that list. I remember that happening early August that year, maybe late july before training camp. He had to have his hand in that if he was fired at the end of August that year...

    Also, was it Leiweke that replaced him that year? I don't remember who got the job right after he was let go. CD didn't come along until 1996 I believe.
