A reminder, the (republican) senate as abdicated any real role of constitutionally required checks and balance... "for political capital"...

There's certainly an argument for saying the mayors of Seattle and Portland did a bad job but this is Barr and this Administration looking to overstep Constitutional bounds. If it's an acceptable argument that DOJ can start charging local elected leaders for sedition based on that they don't feel like they are enforcing the laws imagine a future Democratic AG doing the same thing to Republican local leaders if they don't think they are enforcing or environmental laws.

This kind of ties in with something I read in regards to a memo that went out to the GOP Senate yesterday that they may lose the Senate. The whole focus seems to be on this election and nothing past that. If they don't win, they believe they don't really have a future.

    Not the Japanese internment camps?

    Not the Civil War?

The corona virus lock down (which the President supported) is the greatest intrusion on civil liberties? Not the efforts to suppress the vote? Not Jim Crow? Not poll taxes? Not property ownership requirements? Not women not having the right to vote?

Nope...... the biggest intrustion on civil liberties in wearing a mask during a pandemic.

William EMO Barr can go **** himself.

Yes, Barr msut be impeached in November. He needs to go down in history as the first AG to be impeached. I don't care that the impeachment will be mooted or not pursued by what is hopefully a lame duck Senate. THat's literally the most minor punishment I can imagine for him (he should be disbarred, along with Rudy, too - I don't get what cowardly Bar associations are afraid of here)

Where's the 'George Washington would shoot him in the face' option?

After a fair trial, which is something he doesn’t seem particularly interested in.

He was totally wrong: employees at DOJ work for the taxpayers, not for some delusional appointee who has never prosecuted a case.

In a administration and cabinet that is by far the worst of all time, barr has managed to stand out as the worst of the worst...
