He needs to play that up a bit because he was so critical of Dwight last year. It appears to me that he wants things to work in Houston, but he can't do a complete 180 at this stage without looking like a flip-flopper.

I think the Jeff Green thing was a joke since Bill always talks about how frustrated he is with him. I love Jeff Green though, the guy has all the makings to be a stud, he just needs to be in attack mode all the time instead of like a half at a time.

He is in attack mode 1/20 the time.

I would not mind having a Jeff Green-type player, I am just not sure I want to have the actual Jeff Green-- especially not at the cost of Omer Asik.

If Green is the best that's being offered for Omer right now, I'd rather just keep Omer (whether he plays 15 minutes or 30 minutes per game) and see what Casspi can do in the stretch 4 role until either something happens to make trading Asik make sense.

If Jeff Green is only really only special in "attack mode," then this roster may be a rather bad fit for him. There are enough scorers on the team that Green is probably just gonna by happy hanging out by the 3 point line. If this is the Jeff Green we get, what's the difference between having him and having Casspi?

I'm surprised they think Harden would turn on Howard, but at least Jalen was there to tilt things back in our favor.

Parsons the best shooter in NBA - the only one with 4 red spots on the floor

I know Parsons is a good shooter but don't know he's that good.

If those percentages on the wings were a little bit better that shot chart would be a stat guy's wet dream.

I think Kawhi did a great job on LeBron -- but of course, that is only relative to how most teams do against LeBron, so, overall I agree with your point -- who would guard Lebron for the Rockets. I know Parsons would get the duty, and I like Parson's defense, but I think a good bench wing defender who can handle the ball a little and shoot really well is still a weakness on this team. Perhaps they should target an upgrade there with any potential Asik trade.

I think Garcia might be expected to fill this exact role, and he showed he could to some extent in the OKC series last season. I think he should be given a chance to fill this role by all means, but if the team looks like a title contender mid season, then playoff matchups (particularly with the Heat) might necessitate an upgrade at the wing bench defender.

Sorry, but I think that is a homer stance indeed. I hate Terry, but that is because he absolutely killed the Rockets so often. Terry was a 6th man of the year type player for the Mavs, creating shots, hitting clutch shots, sometimes being the best offensive player they had on the floor during critical stretches. Just when you thought you had the Mavs down and had Dirk under control, terry would explode like he was Iverson or something. Garcia is a solid role player, but no where near the same class as the hated Terry.

Not as a scorer, but he is a better and more versatile defensive player than Terry ever was.

I agree with that -- but as far as overall class of player, and impact on the game, Terry has had much larger roles and impacts for his teams throughout the years than Garcia ever has.

I like Garcia, and I like defensive players more than offensive ones typically (I wept myself to sleep for weeks after Hayes signed with the Kings), but Terry was just a much more productive player than Garcia over the years.

However, I will say, I think Lin off the bench can fill the role Terry used to play. Not to say that he will, but he has that kind of potential.

    They raise some great points.

    Houston vs Miami.

"To beat Miami you have to beat them at the 1 or the 5. 5 is beat with Dwight."

1 will be covered by Pat Bev and Lin.

Prime Jason Terry was an absolute terror for any team. I'm hoping Lin can fill that role for the Rockets, maybe not as much scoring as Terry did, but more passing and creating for the team.

Oh, man. He is easily my 2nd favorite on this team, but this is nothing but the truth. iDied a little inside watching him try to bring the ball up and penetrate last game. I understand feeling like you might be getting hot, but let's not get crazy. LOL.

Garcia's defense is solid. He isn't a lock-down defender but you could put him on the opponent's best wing scorer.

Garcia is a very cheap 3 and D, and this team is lucky to have been able to resign him for so cheap.
