Me too. Biggio deserves this. I think from a player perspective, if you had to pick 1 guy, he is the face of the Astros.

I know it gets a lot of criticism, but the baseball HOF is the best HOF in sports and that's why it's so awesome to see a childhood favorite get elected. People get mad and say "the HOF is a joke" but the reality is the baseball HOF is the best run HOF in the world. It's hard to get into, players want it badly, media respects the heck out of it, it means a lot to have the words "Hall of Famer" after your name, etc.
Swear I just saw a thread that said Congratulations Biggio on Hall of Fame 2014. It was locked and deleted instantly. Mod's playing around in this section?
It bugs me that people feel a player who spent most of his career as a DH is far more HOF worthy than Jeff Bagwell. That this same player, who played during the same era, is any less suspicious of PEDs than Bagwell. And that this player is gonna wind up on more ballots than Biggio is absolutely absurd. Happy for Biggio...but damn I wanted to see them go in together. Now it may not even happen for Baggy.
I will be very disappointed if Biggio isn't elected today. I'm pretty excited. I think Baggy deserves to be in the Hall, but not expecting it today.
The latest BBTF tally has Biggio at 79.2% and Bagwell at 56%. Still...until it's formerly announced, I'm nervous.
How are the NFL and NBA halls easier to get into? How does the media (which is partly comprised of these idiots who get votes) respect this HOF more than the NFL or NBA? This is a hall that doesn't even have the sport's leader in hits enshrined. It's one where grumpy old sportswriters who should've had their votes taken away from them years ago still making decisions based off rumors and innuendo. It's become a complete joke. Paul freaking LoDuca recieved the one and only vote from someone for crying out loud. That's like only voting for Sean Elliott or Ernest Givens to the Hall.
Sorry, the NBA and NFL Hall of Fames are basically worthless. I'm not going to argue about it with you, but there isn't a single Hall of Fame that gets the attention baseball's does.
Only Basketball HOF is a joke. Pro-Football is on similar level with Baseball. Which can only be called jokes because of the ridiculous decisions to keep people out that they make.
Football's voting process is crazy and there are plenty of people who get in that shouldn't while ones who should don't. But yeah, football is certainly above the basketball HOF. Baseball and football are not "jokes" but they do frustrate people when players they like don't get in. The Loduca argument listed above is weak sauce. There are tons of writers voting for these guys, some of them being dumb isn't a big deal.
