Man, I don't believe that Lee Johnson ever sweated in a Rocket's uniform after being their #1 pick back in the 70's sometime.

At this moment, the Najera for Langhi trade appears to be a bigger bust than Roderick Rhodes, but not drafting Rashard Lewis is the big one.....

If you count not drafting a certain player as a "bust", then every draft has been a bust.

relative to other teams, the Rox have had far less busts...look at the Shawn Bradley's and the Olowakandy's of the league...our only REAL off year was the year we had three picks (albeit mobley was a steal in the 2nd round)....

At least Najera gets to play in a game occasionally. Play Langhi and then I'll make a judgement. I thought Griffin might be bust until he got some playing time. Garbage time is not a good evaluator. Starting Williams is not the answer to the Rockets problems. Play the Rookies---then I'll evaluate, especially Collier and Langhi!

It was a cost cutting measure. Rockets picked Johnson with no intention of signing him. This was in the late 70s, before first round picks were guaranteed contracts.

The Turkcan pick turned into the TMo pick. The jury is still out on TMo, but Rudy believes TMo has a future in the league. From what I have seen, I agree. As long as EG does not become the Rock's future 3, TMo should step up in second or third year and become a solid starting NBA 3.

Signing Matt Maloney to a huge contract could be mentioned.

How can you consider late first round picks and even second round picks as busts!? Busts are more along the lines of guys like former 6th pick Robert Traylor, taken between Vince Carter and Jason Williams, and before Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce and Bonzi Wells, among other lottery pick players. Traylor had expectations to be in the same class as these type of players, but instead is not even a starter, or even a key player off the bench. Then we are talking about Dan Langhi and Terrence Morris as the biggest Rockets busts ever.... Most of the other players taken in the 2nd round with Langhi are already out of the league, with the exception of a few guys like Eddie House, Chris Porter, Michael Redd, Eduardo Najera, Khalid El-Amin, etc...and by next year most of the other second rounders from TMo's class will be gone too, except for a few steals like Loren Woods, Earl Watson, etc. We'll just have to hope TMo is one of them.
