I'd say selling Brooks at his lowest value will probably go down amongst his biggest regrets. I didn't necessarily think we'd get fair value for him considering his season.. but I would have liked to hold on to him if that was the case.

Amare wouldn't have re-signed (and I believe that was reported somewhere), so I don't see how fans could complain about that.

    1. not trading T-mac for Billups and Prince when Yao was healthy ( had the chance to make it to the top if happened).
    2. not selling AB last year.

No. They'd be low-picks. It'd be lucky for either of them to turn out well. Lee is already good and still has upside.

    Crystal ball.

Hey, I was being sarcastic. It was the biggest crippling blow to us. And there was almost no way of preventing it.

Moreyy turned the number 8 pick to 6 pick to 2nd pick. He must be so smart.

You know that Les would not have let Morey trade either of them when they were playing... and I know for a fact that the fans would have been pissed at the time.

Definitely see Amare' deal as the only true difference maker had it happened. The rest are fairly moot IMO.

Let's see how this thing shakes out!

Not convincing Les that a full rebuild was necessary when Yao went down almost two years ago.

Chicago is going to be pretty good for years to come. These would be 26th or 27th picks. But two of them? I would have taken those, Bogans, and Asik in return for Lee, Miller, and Budinger.

Not packaging Brooks and the NY picks in the off-season. Then again the Sixers did pull out of a "costly" deal at the last minute which the Rockets had signed off on. So maybe they did offer all hat up but no takers?

I'm surprised that the Amare choice is winning this one.

That was a good call, imo. Sure, that turned out to be good for the Knicks but that was a HUUUUUUUUUGE gamble that wouldve crippled our franchise given our luck with injuries.

Holding on to his "assets", you all call them, one year too late...And accumulating low 1st round draft picks , only for the sole purpose of accumulating "assets" for greater trade value...Only to be shunned by owners who tell him to take those "assets" and shove em up your ass..

Im tempted to say the same thing .... then I wonder 1) what would it have taken 2) if he would have resigned or gone on to NYC anyway. Sometimes the best deals are the ones you dont do.

This team was going nowhere with Battier , may as well open up some minutes , get a #1 and a project in the process.

There is always the possibility that Battier could return as a FA in the future ....

If I had to pick Moreys worst move - its not getting anything forYao and Jared Jeffries expiring deals . Thing is that with a lockout looming expiring's dont have near as much value as in a normal season.

Wish I could rep this post ....

Thats probably true .... But how do you convince Les to sell his cash cow and the key to China's market ? I dont believe Les would have let him go even if he knew he was going to break down. There is always the "Hope" factor for Yao and China ..... Not that I believe there is any hope in Yao making a productive return.

As long as the Chinese have hope the cash will keep coming. If not eventually its going to flow to the superstars' teams. I think there will always be a contingent of rockets followers in China as long as we don't do Yao wrong.

So I am with you I don't think Morey could have convinced him unless it was a ridiculous deal.

I'd pin that on Adelman, he really should have benched brooks instead of letting him collect 1-10's and 2-8's night after night.

There was no point in holding on to Brooks because he was due to make big money this offseason. All it takes is one other team to give him 8M a year and we'd be stuck paying that kind of money to someone coming off the bench while hoping that somebody trades for him at that amount. What if Brooks takes a season to get out of his slump? Anyway, even if Brooks was on fire I'd be ok on getting Dragic. Dragic's could become someone special in the league.

Just so everyone who dont know, will know about the Amare deal. Once Landry was traded, the deal was dead. Phoenix didnt want scola or battier, so to offer something, they wanted brooks, bud, scola, brooks, and the knicks picks plus the rockets wouldve had to take barbosa. The rockets would have given up all that and watch amare walk. Of course they couldve signed and traded him and gotten a huge tpe.

I dont think morey has made any huge mistakes. The gay-battier trade was his puppy. My biggest beef is probably passing jordan for dorsey, but thats minor i guess.

Hindsight being 20/20 I think you have to say Amare, but I doubt he would have come here regardless. And those knees could go at anytime...
