Luke Scott is not a fine defensive OF. He is adequate for a good offensive OF. Offensively, he's been magnificent.

One game Lane would bat 4th, next game 7th and the next game 5th and so on. I feel sorry for anyone who hits in front of Preston Wilson (you get no pitches to hit).

Your next 2 quotes cancel each other out.

Let's bring Aubrey Huff in, lets go after Soriano. Get a clue Tim ad Drayton. We needed bullpen help and you blew it.

Those averages for Scott are fine and good...and are better than Mo's...BUT, Scott has been in the everyday rotation for a few weeks now and the team still continued to scuffle. Mo came back the first game on this road trip, the same road trip the team went 4-2. I noticed it the first game; the trade deadline had passed so the players could focus on the game and they got a boost on offense (the equivalent of trading for a bat) in Mo; and you could see the intensity he brought back to the team. I'm not saying he provided the one and only spark, but he has contributed to the team's resurgence as of late.

    ...

Lane had plenty of chances; Garner gave him perhaps too much time...so I don't see how anyone can say the org. screwed that up.

Ensberg has only himself to blame for his problems (which are hopefully behind him now)

And the bullpen doesn't suck, but has been very much inconsistent. We didn't need bullpen help though, cause we got some guns in the minors that could help out (ex. Nieve being called back up)

And the Oswalt and Lidge trade rumours I have a feeling were blown severly out of proportion by the media. They'll get over it (Just pay the man (Oswalt))

Cheer up everybody, the Reds are getting blasted 7-1 in the second inning :p

I guess now is as good a time as any to root for the Cards to put a hurting on the 'nati while hopefully take some brooms to the Pirates.

Backe (at home) - Oswalt - Clemens... we've got to take 2, if not all 3 of these games.

Lane batted in the 6 spot for more than 2/3rd of his at-bats this season. He ruined his own confidence by sucking. If a player can't handle batting in different spots occasionally, then he's a bad player - you shouldn't have to baby an MLB player.

I also like Ensberg hitting second. Will Preston WIlson get any more time this year? Is it a foregone conclusion that we won't be picking up his 3 year option?

Cards up 10-1 in the 7th. Excellent. :D We're about move to 3 behind Cincy in the loss column, while still not losing any ground on St. Louis in the loss column. The L column is the only number that matters. So we should absoulutely go for the Cards against the Reds.

Memo to everybody worried about the Reds, the Nationals were 55-43 and leading the wildcard at the beginning of August last year. They ended up at .500 The Reds best this year was 55-48. They are going to falter, and it'll probably come down to the Dodgers or D'Backs or Padres.

Have I watched Luke Scott play defense? Well, for the last 2 years I have had season tickets to the RR express and have seen him play TONS of games.

He is a VERY good defensive LEFT fielder, but in RF or CF, he would struggle, although he has the arm to play RF, just not the experience.

But when you hit .400...who cares.

Thanks BobFinn !!! Since you want to crash our party why don't you just come back next year since you know the Stros are not going to win it this year ? Facts: Lane SUCKS because he chose to suck..Ensberg SUCKS because he chose to suck...Now Garner has managed some bad games but to blame Lanes and Ensbergs fall to sucking so much on Garner.. :D :D

it's not garner's fault they both have vaginas. btw, jason lane's lack of actual talent in what ruined him, not phil garner.
