Z's "offensive" rebounding as of late has been impressive. I have to give him that. I think right now Z is just quicker than Yao in terms of footspeed and that gives him an advantage in terms of rebounding.

Well Big Z isn't "Playing like Shaq". That would suggest that he's banging downlow and throwing it down on everybody's heads. But he is playing extremely well so you have to give him props for that.

damn! He has been playing extremely well and his rebounding is solid

He could end up being a 20-9 guy by the end of the season...maybe not ;)

His offensive rebounding has always been great but he could easily be a 10+ rebounder if his defensive rebouding would improve

What Big Z has done in the last couple of years is nothing short of a minor miracle. Everyone thought he was done after he broke his foot for the second time. Instead he came back and became an all-star, with 8 screws in his left foot.

I think that the edge that Z has on Yao is that he's more experienced and more polished. He's a lot more savvy than Yao on the offensive end and knows how to block shots without fouling. Yao's biggest advantage over Z, on the other hand, is that he's young and he's remarkable durable for a big man. If Yao can remain healthy he'll have a much better career than Z.

Z is definitely having a career year. However, its no coincidence that this is also his contract year. He's getting paid maximum money now and he's not about to take a paycut this summer. The Cavs certainly would like to keep him, but they are also looking to throw big money at a Michael Redd-type sharp shooter and giving Z the max will prevent them from doing that. So it will be quite a dilemma for them.

Part of Lebron's greatness comes by making the players around him better.

Z should be greatful for all those games he missed with his bad feet over the seasons and gets paid his true value for the games he will miss because of his feet. It's like the guy took some potion to get the most out of his feet at the right time....
