Yeah, that's probably true. If they lose, it may all depend on how bad they lose. Also, LSU could possibly jump Penn State. I'm with you Major95, I'd hate not to play USC if we win on Saturday.
i hope texas doesn't overlook Colorado even though they've imploded. i doubt it happens but the big 12 championship game has been notorious for unbelievable upsets, and yes there has been an unranked team beat a top 5 in the big 12 championship game before......texas over nebraska.
USC would definitely be the "sexiest" matchup, so to speak. Plenty of water cooler talk throughout December if Texas and USC can get there. Also, about LSU- I've heard that they might have slipped some due to their performance vs. Arkansas. So, any chance of them passing Penn St. may be gone, although voters could change their minds after they play UGA. Any new news on the injury to LenDale White? I heard he injured his shoulder in practice Sunday. It was reported on ESPN's college football website.
Hey lets not get into that, I am a student with a job. I will root against ut if i would like. I don't want to start a personal attack.
Ok... so you've dispelled the "no job" part and you admit that you are young (being a student), but you certainly do sound bitter.
If you deliver my pizza before the start of MNF I'll throw in an extra $.25 on the tip. DRIVE FASTER!!!
Oops. Sorry. While I'm still holding out the 0.0000000001% chance we land the Holiday Bowl, I doubt we get the Houston Bowl. Big rumor is the Champs Bowl or Shreveport. That's right, we're going to a fifth tier bowl this year, again. We probably won't get Houston because we were in it last year (vs UTEP). Forget that. I've enjoyed every second of their misery. My Buffs started the misery, and sadly we might have just signaled the end of it with last Friday. As for CU vs UT, I will never cheer against my Buffs. Not possible. That said, I'm not going to be that upset when you guys roll over us. Rumor has it that thanks to the disappointing last two games (we shouldn't have lost either of those games), the AD has allocated funds ($2 mil exit clause) so that we can fire Barnett after this game. End of an error. University of Colorado Golden Buffaloes 13 Texas 45 Wow, you know, using the full title of the team is more impressive when you're not expecting them to get spanked.
Not sure why you're so eager to fire Gary Barnett. He's won the Big 12 North Division 4 out of the last 5 years. Despite all the recruiting scandals and controversy, he's still managed to field a 7-4 teams on a consistent basis. Once GB gets recruiting back on track, the Buffs will be back to the Neuheisel days, when they won 8-10 games a year.
I think Texas will be out to prove something especially after the A&M game, even though I think they just ate too much on Thanksgiving. Vince wants to put on a show for the Houston fans too.
I'm biased because I thought Barnett was a hack back in 2001. Then he beat Nebraska 62-36 and all was forgiven. He's a questionable coach, especially when it comes to playcalling. Look no further than the last CU-UT Big XII Championship game. We had you guys on the ropes (thank you Chris Simms) and he does that moronic fake punt. We almost lose that game. He's TOO loyal to his coordinators. Vince Okrush was the worst d-coordinator in the history of college football. Barnett kept him around about 2 years too long before finally dumping him and bringing in talent. Now he's doing the same with our o-coordinator (Shawn Watson). As for recruiting, he won't get it back on track. He's all but said that he doesn't want to compete for the big time recruits. He doesn't want to keep the studs in state. He wants the gritty walk-on type of player, which is great if you can throw some talent in as well. Plus, as much as I hate to say it, the scandal won't die until he's gone. CU has largely been cleared from everything in the scandal and it appears that the worst thing Barnett did was that moronic press conference about Katie Hnida. The president is gone. The athletic director is gone. The chancellor is gone. Barnett's the only one of the big 4 that's left. CU just needs a fresh start.
i think i've told you before that my closest friend is a guy from greeley and a CU guy. you guys sound soooo much alike. he is ready for barnett to be gonzo.
Man, I just realized what a huge afternoon Saturday is for my teams. UT-chance to win their first Big XII championship since the first one ever and playing for the right to play for their first national championship in 22 years. TUFKASWT-A win propels them into the Final Four of Division I-AA. Katy-A win propels them into the Final Four of 5A-Division 2. It's too bad they overlap. It'd be fun if the Katy game was at Rice at 3 and TUFKASWT played at 6. I could take the train to Reliant, back to Rice, then down to Live. Oh well.
