    The CarMax Business Office has exciting opportunities for part-time Business Office Administrators (BOA). The flexible work schedule offers rotating shifts and hours to fit in with your other daily activities. Potential advancement opportunities for this position include full-time BOA, Lead BOA, Assistant Business Office Manager and Business Office Manager.     * Process orders, donations, letters and emails.

    8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    3 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a Customer Service/Data Entry environment.

    SUMMARY To Provide support for the daily activities of the Patron Services Desk.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Perform all assigned duties associated with the Patron Services Desk, including enforcing correct circulation procedures for checking books in and out; answering patron's directional questions and referring other questions to the Reference Librarian.

    Shelving books and maintaining the shelves in order to provide high quality service to patrons.

    Oversee work-study students.

    Assist in the maintenance of the photocopiers and other library equipment.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     Some previous library experience preferred. Word processing skills preferred; must be highly organized and customer service oriented. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and transport to shelves and other areas of the library is required.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to students, alumni, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to perform basic math essentials

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine problems and/or deal with a variety of variables in situations, especially when department head may be out of office or unavailable. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Must be able to shelve books and assist in the shifting of library materials from one area of the library to another. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds from floor level, at waist, above shoulders, transport to shelves and other areas of the library is required. Frequent bending and stooping necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in order to accurately input data and proofread; distance vision in order to recognize and assist visitors to the department.

    St. John's School seeks candidates for the position of Campus Representative. The successful candidate will have a High school diploma or GED, previous related experience working for a large company or school in the capacity of security, hospitality, or customer service. Would prefer that this candidate hold a Commercial Driver License (CDL) and a valid certification or enrollment certificate to drive a bus transporting students. (Drivers must pass a physical exam and background check).

    Candidates must have excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, respond appropriately, and quickly depending on unknown situations with student, employees or visitor interaction. Hours for this position are from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Position is physical in nature and will require exposure to the elements on a daily basis. Must be able to stand and walk for an 8 hour day regardless of weather conditions. Position is full-time, paid on an hourly basis with benefits.     Do not go back to school unless you have a plan and are committed. Otherwise you are taking on more debt with no return (see your psychology degree). Take advantage of your situation (living at home) by volunteering and doing internships. You are not lacking education so much as you are lacking experience and references. Do you know what you want do?

    You know what? Your situation is alot like mine 8 months ago. I'm also 23 (turning 24 in August). I graduated from college last June, but couldn't find a good job for a long time. But I did have a good degree (Electrical Engineering). But still couldn't find a career job until recently. I was also dating with a 19 year old, but didn't/couldn't make it a serious relationship because she was dealing with a loser. I also had bad credit card spending habits.

    But eventually I found a good paying job in my field. It just took 10 months after graduation. But then again I did have an engineering degree. My advice: Get a second job, go back to school. And there are alot more girls out there. You just gotta know where to look.
