Its not like he was signing with teams like the old vancouver grizzlies now is it. He wen't to the lakers and then the spurs who were loaded with good players. Its not like he was this hugely coveted free agent. He is a role player who has had some success in the playoffs. He does not come into the game and make a difference. He, at times, has big shots. Part of him being on that many championships teams (other than hakeem, drexler, duncan shaq etc, etc) is because he signed with the right teams, and a small part was his ability to hit the big shot. I say a small part, because most of the time hes a non factor. I will take exception to the playoff years with the rockets. I dont believe that rings make you a hall of famer. if KG never wins one hes still got my HOF vote over Horry anyday.

He has more rings than all of them also. Seven working on number eight. He has never lost in the first round or the finals.

Of course. Horry is the GOAT.

Who could forget all those games when everyone else was not shooting well, but Horry put the team on his back and willed them to victory. Or the games in which opponents were double and triple teaming him, but he just would not be denied.

I know during the Rockets championships, that opposing players were always saying, "We got to story Horry. We don't care about Olajuwon. Drexler can easily be contained. But if we don't watch out, Horry just might score 10 points on us on 44% shooting... THAT'S what cannot happen."

It's not like he was highly sought after as a finishing touch for those championship teams.

It's not like people thought he was a fool's gold commodity like SAR all those years. They could have not signed him on their team. But they knew what he brought to the table.

They knew he could put them over the top and step up when the bigs on the team were struggling or couldn't finish a team off.

They knew he was going to be pivotal to their team's success in crunch time. There's always at least one game where its locked up and tied down to the last few seconds that turn the tide of a series. Who steps up more often than not in those situations? Big Shot Bob. Also he's made pivotal defensive stops when it matters too.

Those championship teams knew they'd much rather have him on their team than see his presence as an opponent that could nail them in crunch time. They feared what he could do to them.

I know I'd rather have an american hero like Robert Horry on the Rockets in Game 7 last year. I know he'd grab those boards and make big shots to put this team in the 2nd round.

I know if he were on this team's roster he would have stepped it up in Game 2 and 4 this season. I know if Deron Williams was lighting us up like he did this series Robert Horry wouldn't take that crap and would nail him to the stands. Know why? Because he's a winner.

Winners win, and he's won it more than most players.

Robert Horry 4 HOF '08! ROCK THE VOTE!

look guys, I love the rockets, i love horry. as a matter of fact i was one of the few happy we didn't take baby jordan. second matter of fact, I got to meet him before he ever suited up for a game because the rockets held training camp and practice at my high school gym while I was in high school. no kidding I remember the dude watching me play before they kicked us out the gym before practice. also got to meet manute bol and charles barkley because opposing teams would sometimes hold practices there. all that being said as much love as i have for horry, he's not a HOF. he has a story book career, probably should be mentioned somewhere in the HOF for his good fortune, but he's no HOF. its a fairly ridiculous notion

    LMAO!

If Horry makes the HOF then so should this guy:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satch_Sanders

Look, I understand that Horry made some big clutch shots in the playoffs that helped his teams win, but that doesn't make him a Hall of Famer. A clutch player but not a HOFer. As someone else said earlier, if Horry was a much better player than someone who would score around 10 or 12 and shoot around 40% and was more like someone scoring 30 a game, maybe his team wouldn't need a last second desperation shot to win the game. You see, Horry being a ROLE PLAYER was never counted on to carry a team to win a championship. I mean the guy is incredibly lucky and fortunate to play with HOFers like Olajuwon, Drexler, Shaq, Kobe, and Duncan. I think anyone else that has had the good fortune of "Big Shot Bob" to play with those players named and in their prime would probably have 7 rings, too.

And Vitale is in the Hall as a "contributor" and you can hate him all you want, but there is no denying the fact that Vitale was the one who really promoted college basketball and has always been its biggest fan. Before Vitale, the NCAA tournament was the ONLY thing about the sport and nowhere near as popular as it is now. Now, major college basketball is talked all the time while the season is going on, not just its postseason. Maybe Horry can get in to the Hall as a "contributor" since he did hit a couple of big shots to help his teams win and who could forget his really classy cheap shot on Nash that helped his Spurs to win another title? An outstanding way in contributing to another title! But in the Hall for his playing career?? Lolololololololol...I don't think so.

The people who diss Horry's playoffs streak as luck are the same people whined about people dissing our 22-game streak.

BTW, if Horry is the greatest coattail rider as a player, then Phil Jackson has to be the greatest CTR as a coach.

Horry has been out of the 1nd round every year, tmac has never been out of the 2nd round. If they are both 24 year old free agents, would ANYONE rather sign Horry because he's a "winner"?

    1. the Astros don't rule. There's only one team in town who's done anything. And that's the team with Robert Horry who won 2 titles.

    2. young athletic Robert Horry would have caused problems for anyone.

    3. you're a hater, you've only posted 100 times and like 70 of them are hating on horry. don't worry, i'll post 100 times to negate your hate.

    GLORY FOR HORRY

    you are true fan rockbox,

you know any glory for the original Rockets heroes brings more glory as a team with great players, a MVP, and a heroic coach.

don't let this "astrosrule" guy get to you, he's only using this "horry HOF" argument as a excuse to hate on Horry.

Kinda like Segregation back in the day, an excuse for Racism.

its HATE and HATE is the SAME. its EVIL.

    Good will defeat EVIL.

Your whole argument is based on pictures of will smith and hating on me because for whatever reason you think i hate horry, and i already said i have nothing against him. Am i the only person here who doesn't think he's a hall of famer? NO, i'm just able to actually use logic, unlike you, and not blind love for a player because he won 2 rings for my team.

you're making an excuse, i see your real intent. you intent is hate.

you exposed yourself as fake fan for saying that Horry is a bench player.
and then further attacking his championships saying SAR would have won 3 rings, SAR couldn't hit a bucket in a regular season game in crunch time much less the NBA finals.

I will not let you ruin RockBox's thread. Like Officer Mike Lowry in Miami. I will uphold the law of CLUTCH CITY.
