Horry is now immortalized. In the next Eons, they will replay billions of NBA Greatest Moments and he will live FOREVER
Which is true. But doesn't make anyone HoF material HOWEVER The guy who has had the most post-season appearances probably deserves at least a little bit of consideration ESPEICALLY considering that he wasn't a total passenger (hence the nick 'big shot Bob') AND the fact that he played an important role in winning 7 rings. You can say that is not HoF material, but I'd like to know 'why not'? Because, last I checked, basketball is still a team game where the ultimate goal is to win a championship. Shareef Abdur Rahim put up 20ppg seasons, but he didn't make the post-season. Horry averaged 7ppg and never missed the post-season. NEVER. That's a fairly incredible effort. Sure - you can say he rode the coat-tails, but if it was that easy, someone else would be close to having the 7 rings that he does. If it was as easy as riding the coat-tails, someone else would've exceeded Jabbar's record by now. But it's not that easy, it's a team game, and Horry has been willing to put off 'personal success' for the sake of the team - but yet make himself available when the game is on the line. 238 post-season games 2nd round of the playoffs every year in the league 7 championships (who else in recent history has that many?) Basketball isn't ALL about individual stats, and to celebrate a great team player Horry could get nominated one day. And fair enough too.
I don't recall SAR ever playing with dream, shaq, or duncan.....thats not a reasonable comparison. Had SAR played PF next to shaq on those lakers teams, he'd have 3 rings.
SAR sucks. That's why he's SAR. He'd have 3 rings.. ONION RINGS! I know you exposed yourself as a Horry hater on a JOYOUS accomplishment by one of the original Clutch City Heroes. you must hate Jazzy Jeff and his rapper too. GLORY FOR HORRY!! GLORY FOR HORRY!! GLORY FOR HORRY!! CHAMPIONSHIPS. GRAMMY. OSCARS.
I have nothing against Horry, he was the right guy on the right teams at the right times, i only said putting him in the HOF is a joke to players who carried teams to the playoffs/championships, and i would be surprised if more then half the people on here disagree

to not be a factor 82 games EVERY regular season, but play better in the playoffs does not make you a HOFer. He did come up with some big shots, but did not raise his game to a new level where oppenents planned around him. It's not like he came in and was dropping 15-25 points. He hit some big shots. Some, not every game. He did not come in and change the game. He is "Big Shot Rob" because he hit some big shots, but he is not a comamnding force when he enters the game. That is a huge difference!

How can a guy who's never been the best or 2nd best or even 3rd best player on his team be a hall of famer? Maybe i'm crazy for saying a guy who was a bench player his whole career should not be a hall of famer.
fake fan alert. REAL ROCKET FANS KNOW HORRY WAS A STARTER. HE PLAYED THE 3 and THEN THE 4. ALERT! ALERT! HATER IN THE HOUSE!
don't worry rockbox, i'll protect your thread from the haters of the Rudy T heroes! we got your back!
He started less games then he came off the bench for, your whole argument is based on a few seasons with the rockets, if he played for any other team everyone here, you included, would laugh at the fact that someone suggests he's a HOF player.
See, my argument wasn't based around that at all... Just saying that he was an integral part of 7 championship teams. record for post season appearances. always made the 2nd round Them's mighty fine numbers my friend - if it was total luck, then why hasn't the luck struck someone else? He must contribute something!

NEW ORLEANS -- Spurs forward Robert Horry set an NBA record by appearing in his 238th playoff game during Game 5 of San Antonio's series against New Orleans on Tuesday night. Coming into the playoffs, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held the previous record for playoff appearances with 237. Horry, in his 16th season, has been in the playoffs in all of them, winning two championships with the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs and three with the Los Angeles Lakers. Horry is 13th all-time in playoff minutes, over 2,000 minutes behind Abdul-Jabbar. Known for his clutch shots, Big-Shot Rob is second to Reggie Miller in 3-pointers made in the postseason. The clutch shooting and playoff pedigree has kept Horry in the league for 16 seasons, despite scoring 7.0 points and averaging 4.8 rebounds per game in his career.
Post 65 in this thread, the onion rings post, is your best ever. You sir, are the master. I will bow to if I ever have the pleasure of meeting you. You are ahead of your time. I am still laughing at that post.
And by the way, he DOES deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. NO ONE has put together a playoff streak like this, and let me tell you, its not luck. Sure, he takes ENTIRE SEASONS off, but Horry is a freak of nature. The big shots, the fact that his teams mysteriously become awesome when he joins... he belongs in the HOF. Seriously.
