I have absolutely nothing against Horry, my only point is he's not a hall of fame player. You can see those teams don't win championships without him, thats fine, because you can't prove it one way or the other, but a hall of fame player is a guy you can build a team around. Horace grant is not a hall of famer, same with kerr, harper, or any role player just because they were on teams that won rings. You said yourself its a team game, but being a hall of famer is an individual accomplishment.

I think Hall of Fame is about Fame. Some got fame because of their scoring power. Some because of their defensive, or rebounding skills. Horry has been made FAMEous because of his big shots and the number of playoffs games he played and the number of championships his won...etc.

Yeah ask anyone in the world about Horace Grant and ask them what memorable game you remember Horrace Grant in. See how long it takes for them to answer that question.

Ask the same person about Robert Horry. Anyone, Any country. They know who he is, they know what he does.

    Its Fame.

Yeah its easy to prove it. Cause if Horry didn't hit the game winning shots, they'd lose. Hence they were GAME WINNING SHOTS.

I love Big Shot Bob... but there's no way he's getting in the HOF.. it would be nice and I would so happy for him if he does one day get in.. but stat-wise, he's not HOF material.. he's been on some great teams, no doubt about it... and he's contributed to their successes but no way should he be in the HOF

I have been a huge rockets fan since before the championships. So, I can appreciate what horry did for us. Yes, he did come up big in the playoffs at times. But, he never played to his potential during the season or even the playoffs. Coming up BIG in the playoffs is averaging 20 a game for an entire playoffs. Grabbing 10 boards a game for an entire playoffs, or even a series. Don't get me wrong, he had clutch shots, but to call him a Hall of Famer is like comparing him to Dream. There's no comparison. He was lazy, yes lazy, during the regular season. he was down right sorry at times, but he did show up fpr the playoffs. regular season= below average. playoffs=above average. HOF= no way in hell.

If Duke Vitale can make it in the HOF then Horry definitely deserves to be inducted in.

Are you really comparing broadcasters to players?

Please don't put him in the Hall of Fame. I know he had a solid contribution to make on most of his playoff teams (not this year), but don't disparage the other players who actually had the skills to make the Hall of Fame by putting someone who was 1.) extremely fortunate to get drafted into a championship-caliber squad, 2.) extremely lucky to latch onto the LA and SA dynasties afterwards, and 3.) heady enough to choose winning over money. We know he made big shots, but so did a lot of other role players like Steve Kerr, Mario Elie, Derek Fisher, Jeff Hornacek, Detlef Schrempf, Michael Finley, Eddie Johnson, Dan Majerle...stop me when you hear the Hall of Famer in that list.

Horry has done more for basketball than Vitale has done as a coach with a horrible record or as a broadcaster.

What has Horry himself (not the teams he's been on) done that was so profound or game changing. I'm not really a Vitale fan, but name me a more popular college basketball commentator than Vitale.

He just hates Duke with a passion. Talk about the weather and he'll complain that the sky looks too much like Duke's school color.

And it's not even like Vitale is that bad a commentator like Billy Packer or Tim McCarver. He's pro-everybody. He never bashes anything at all. That's what makes him Dickie V. Just turn the sound off; I do it for so many other broadcasters anyways.

Robert Horry has got to be the most overrated NBA player ever.

You switch Robert Horry with any Hall of Fame PF, and you can correctly assume those "big game winners" will not occur.

    Why?

Because the team would be so good it would be blowing away the competition.

horry is the luckiest player in the history of the nba!he has made some big last second shots, but i have NEVER seen a guy latch on to a team and ride it to the top like him! and this is a guy who hit a couple of parked cars during his tenure in htown!!! PARKED CARS

I dont know if he could go to the HOF, but one thing is for sure, he did helped teams to win an NBA championship, for example

2002 vs Kings, in the game 4 WCF: He scored a three pointer, when shaq and kobe missed, and if the kings would win that game the series will be 3-1 lead by the kings, and I dont think the lakers could came back of that, so its much better 2-2 than 3-1. and the gained the momentum.

Horry its a valuable piece of the team he is in.

He said the Rockets should draft Jay Williams because he's a Dukey and that the Rockets were going to regret drafting Yao Ming and called him the second coming of Sam Bowie as though Williams was the next Jordan. His analysis sucks. Take away the annoying loud voice and he's just some random coach with a horrible track record.

Apparently the louder you are the more successful you'll be on ESPN. Look at Vitale and Stephen A Smith.

Meanwhile Horry has delivered while coming up big in crunch time and won many rings.

The basketball Hall of Fame is a joke anyways. It's much tougher to get in the baseball one.
