Some of you are really underating Big Momma's House 2. It's a story about love, deception, greed, lust, and unbridled enthusiasm. That's what led to Big Momma's downfall. You see, Big Momma was a simple country girl. You might say a cockeyed optimist, who got herself mixed up in the high stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue.
Went to watch it today [a woman was involved] and strangely enough . .it was actually a decent movie By the way Do you guys LIVE AND DIE by the Rottentomatoes.com? Rocket River
Slap stick comedy. This movie should attract people who laugh at a grown man who makes silly comments about being an obese woman. It certainly doesn't attract me. It's just sad how people like this sort of stuff, but they don't laugh at an "Airplane" joke, which requires more brain cells. I should borrow the the first one from someone in high school to see how it was.
Everytime when I say I never get to pick out a movie my wife mentions the time in college I picked Big Momma's House. I hate that movie for what it has caused.
I certainly do, and I haven't been let down yet. One review of Big Momma's House 2 might be biased, but 31 of them (plus user ratings)? That's called an adequate sample size.
I can understand that but Generally. . I judge for myself I rarely agree with Sisko and Ebert Rocket River
Siskel decided he'd rather move on to a better place than see Gigli, Big Mamas House 2, and Catwoman. I'll never forgive Ebert for convincing me to see The English Patient. But I seriously doubt BMH2 is a classic. However, on the flight from Houston to NYC, with a couple drinks in me, I found "Roll Bounce" (a movie I laughed at when I heard the concept) to be amusing as hell. So what do I know?
Much like "Next Friday" and a bunch of other similar comedies, this movie has a target audience. You don't need to appeal to everyone to make money in this business, as long as you appeal to your core audience. And yes, I saw it (had low expectations and it managed to be even worse than I expected)
i would like to take back whatever negative comments i have made about people's taste in movies. i find Zoolander to be a funny ass movie, and have gotten flamed for it. so, who am i to criticize.
I know what you mean...I consider Cable Guy a "classic". As for Big Momma's House 2...I loved the first one, so I'm disappointed to see the horrible reviews for this one.
I saw it, hated it. The only Martin Lawerence movie I didnt want to kill myself after I saw it was Blue Streak. I hated the first one, I hated the second one, and I have a feeling I will hate the 3rd one. The saddest part was not the movie, but the audience, I felt like I was the only one who didn't see this as total crap. I really hate people.
You guys ever see Life? That movie was a waste of talent. Eddie and Martin in one film should be hilarious. It blew big time.
i'm not actually sure why i picked a thread about Big Momma's House 2 to snap about pop culture snobbery, but it had been building for a while and this was a convenient outlet given the early posts. i just find it funny that people who will quote things like Old School and Anchorman (which i like) ad nauseum find others to be morons when it comes to taste. i'll admit, my first thought when i first saw the commercials for this was "damn, martin lawrence must be really desperate," especially considering the first was only moderately successful and was released quite a while ago. perhaps a thread about something else would have been a better forum. anyway, my point remains, people love to crap on anything pop culture these days, and considering the people doing it are part of the general population that makes it popular, it seems a little overdone. as a side note, Life is hilarious. hell, my mom loves it and that's saying something when she finds something funny that my sister and i think is funny. tbs plays it all the time so people must be watching it when it comes on.
We went to the movies saturday night and the was a long line and we were wondering what it was for. Brokeback Mountain just came to town but I thought there was no way in hell that the people I saw in that line would be seeing that one. Then we saw that Big Momma's House 2 had just sold out, we thought thre was no way in hell that that was what all the fuss was about, I never saw the first one, but I guess that was why everyone was there. We saw Fun with Dick and Jane, it was pretty funny.
