Uh...you know the national anthem lasts like a minute, right? You can tune in at 12:03 CT or 3:38 CT or whatever, and watch the game from the kickoff...

No one is making you suffer through the pregame.

Texans' protest will not end well. City may lose the team or the team will lose the fans.

Many will lose jobs, perhaps even the players.

Big picture is McNair was wrong. Unfortunately his attitude is shared by several owners. On the other hand, it just looks like players are picking on an 80 year old owner in poor health. Bad on both sides.

In all seriousness, what is bothering you more... the players holding up fists/taking knees, or the actual issues being protested(police brutality, discrimination, etc.)? I don’t understand how it could truly bother anybody. The way some of you are talking it’s as if they’re having an hour long intervention before every game. How can someone silently taking a knee annoy you??? Hell, if it weren’t for the TV cameras showing them on the field you wouldn’t even know it was going on. If you refuse to be apart of this strong movement led by these young, courageous men I suggest tuning in at 3:15.

Reflection of the division in American society. Both sides in this NFL problem getting further apart.

And yet what have the protests changed in terms of police brutality and addressing past police murders?

They should use another strategy, asking concessions from NFL or team owners to get involved in dialoguing with police.

Rick Smith accompanied Duane Brown last year in dialoguing with Mayor Turner re: police procedures.

Ironic that McNair's statement paved the way for ... you're right ... inmates running the asylum

NFL should release the transcript or minutes.

Won't another owner present in the meeting vouch for him?

So why are idiots like Bobby and ipaman more upset over a knee bend than an employees calling his employees inmates without any merit?

Also notice the snowflakyness of the 'anti-knee bend' crowd.

Notice how not one left leaning poster who doesn't give a **** about knee bends and was irked by McNair's comments which actually merits being irked over didn't mention anything about not following or watching the Texans.

And then notice how the people irked by the knee bend(the same people who probably never watched the pregame anthem) are the same ones who's sensibilities are so rustled that they will abandon a team they followed since it's inception because of a knee bend.

Now I hope every Texan does it just to make these casual bigoted fans leave and not follow this team anymore.

Bobby, I hope you aren't a Texan fan anymore after this game. Your shitty qb analysis won't be missed.

If the Texans protest they've lost me. I can only hope that Watson and Watt are not a part of it. If those two guys participate in the shenanigans the team will lose me as a supporting fan altogether for a long time. I'm simply not going to care about them and support their whiny, bratty, childish behavior. And there are many of us. The players are losing and they are going to continue to lose a long as they keep showing the fans they are spoiled brats.

Hopefully cooler heads and bigger brains prevail today. Because guys like DeAndre and Duane have demonstrated what they're about. They know what McNair meant, inmates run the asylum. They know he misspoke. It's a common phrase, common lingo that is not racist. We use it all the time in speech and we're not going to let a bunch of spoiled brats take it away.

They know McNair is not racist or even biased. McNair is a top-notch human being who has championed this town and done far greater things for this city than all of them combined. And they want to protest because he misspoke? What a bunch of wusses and mental midgets.

Here's one guy (Hopkins) that posted video on public media playing with his weewee, then lied about it and expected us to believe that he was hacked. What kind of human being videos themselves masturbating? What kind of character is that anyways? And then to have it on your phone so you can fire it out to other people? And then lie about it when you hit the wrong button and they whole world sees it? What kind of character is that? What kind of example is that? And then to not apologize for it? And we give you a free pass? We forgive you even though you did such trash and lied about it? And now you want to walk out of practice and make a huge deal about the guy that loves you and pays you millions misspeaking? All because you're wanting to support another guy who calls cops pigs? Dude, you belong in an insane asylum.

And then here's a guy that has a contract that he agreed to the terms of and signed but he decides to sit out half the season and protest being paid the millions he agreed to play for and signed for.......you're a joke. A.total.joke.

These guys are the problem. And they're so stupid they don't even realize they're cutting their own throat by destroying our fandom.

They want us to believe all their lies and public deception then they want to protest the most minor accidental infractions such as McNair's misstatement and the virtually non-existent police brutality against minorities. Give me a break.

I'm sick and fed up with all their stupid monkey business. (No that's not a racist remark. I call monkey business no matter what color the people are that are doing it.)

Guys like DeAndre are clueless about how this country works and how to be productive in society and how to be role models and examples to follow in the community. Instead of choosing to use their influence to help the poor by leading them to right decisions and not making excuses and working and taking advantage of educational opportunities to better themselves, instead of teaching people how to properly respond to the police and legal authority and setting the example for them, these guys choose to protest the police, protest any white person with money and/or influence who holds them to the same unbiased accountability that white people and rich people are held to, they choose to impregnate multiple women, beat them, then run off and leave their young sons without a true father figure to teach them how to be productive members of society and grow up to be men instead of mental midget crybabies, they choose to become p*rn stars, they choose illegal drugs, they choose to hate, they choose to lie about their interactions with the police, they choose to lie about everything they can lie about, they choose to be selfish and stupid. They choose to protest while they're on the job working. That's a fireable offense right there, all by itself, at any company. They're too stupid to see the cycle that they themselves are perpetuating.

And they're destroying their own future earnings power while refusing to listen to counsel explain it to them. These guys are totally crapping on themselves for their own next collective bargaining agreement. You can't get stupider than that unless you're Rae Carruth and Aaron Hernandez.

If I were McNair I would trade and release every player that protests today. I don't want that kind of character on my team. In my business we fire people like that. In fact Hopkins would have been long gone for conduct detrimental (we can't have people representing our company masturbating in public, especially the top employees that we honor as our best employees) and Duane Brown would have already been fired for absenteeism. If I were McNair I'd trade or release every protestor after warning them I was going to do so and then after the last one was gone I'd tell the media I'm the warden and the inmates aren't running my asylum.

This will be my only post here in this thread. Have fun piranhas.

What are the players protesting anyway? McNair? They want him to sell the team?

I'd believe them more if they donate their game salary to charity. They're angry at the owner but are willing to accept their salary from him.

Pay the cost for what you believe in.

I think our helmets may look cool if they're Steelers-esque.

    Here's how I feel:

I am not a black man. I will never pretend to know how anyone with a different colored skin feels or has experienced life. Im not offended by his comments, but I'm also not going to tell anyone else what they're allowed to be offended by. That's unfair. I am not totally blind, either, in thinking that these guys are kneeling because they hate our country. That is the exact form of ignorance that they are kneeling for. People are stupid. Unfortunately, amongst viewers of the NFL, there Isa. Good portion of rednecks who may or may not be slightly inclined to dislike people that are not them.

As far as the Texans go, McNair is a billionaire. You don't become a billionaire by being stupid. He knew what he was saying. Yes, it's a common idiom. He got it wrong. He didn't think anyone would notice or tell anyone, but they did. It's the owners of the league that profit off the players. Yes, they've managed to steer the league in the right direction, but without the players and their storylines, the owners would have nothing. If anyone union head says anything a union doesn't like, it's their right to protest.

I want more visibility on he types of charitable works these guys are doing in the community in the off-season, though.

I stand with the players. There's a reason no players have protested from this team before (besides Duane raising a fist).

Call me an idiot if you want. Go root for another team. I don't care.

    Cool down, cool down.

Agree with you this will not end well.

If McNair were to give up on the team, I'd give Watson to the Falcons, at least that's his home state. I'd give the choice to Watt, Mercilus, Clowney where they'd want to go.
    Or be blackballed

Anyway, report today that Browns holdout was in part because he doesn’t want to play for Bob McNair

Yes we hold white people to a higher standard. It's why we elected a white president who had impregnated multiple women, and some of those women have publicly accused him of domestic abuse and spousal rape.

    So... Yah, higher standards.

You are a piece of ****.
