For a modern world country we sure treat elders, those with disabilities, and our most vulnerable with a lack of empathy and compassion. It's only a reflection of the mindset of the orange creep and Dictator wannabe and those supporting him.

There is nothing Great about the way we provide healthcare compared to other modern world countries. In fact, it's terrible.

The Truth About the One Big Beautiful Bill Act’s Cuts to Medicaid and Medicare

The Center for American Progress and The Arc break down the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, exposing how its deep cuts to Medicaid and Medicare will lead to benefit losses, increased paperwork requirements, and rural hospital closures that will hurt Americans—especially people with disabilities.

Notably, children and nonelderly adults are more likely to rely on Medicaid if they live in rural areas compared with urban areas. The prevalence rate of disability is also higher in rural areas, and disabled rural residents are more likely to be Medicaid recipients than disabled urban residents. This leaves disabled people as some of those most at risk when rural hospitals close.

The bill will put rural hospitals at risk
The OBBBA includes $50 billion in relief funding for rural hospitals over a five-year period to help reduce the disastrous impacts of the bill’s roughly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts. As of May 2025, there were approximately 2,086 rural hospitals receiving $12.2 billion a year in net revenue from Medicaid. At the median, rural hospitals’ revenue from Medicaid is $3.9 million a year.

Rural hospitals have some of the lowest operating margins in the nation, especially compared with urban hospitals, meaning that any reductions in revenue could lead to closures. The average operating margin for rural hospitals was 3.1 percent in 2023, with 44 percent of rural hospitals operating with negative margins. As a result, more than 300 rural hospitals are currently at “immediate risk” of closure, especially now that the OBBBA is projected to cut Medicaid spending by $1.02 trillion. The relief fund designed to blunt the negative impacts caused by the bill would not come close to filling that gap

While some advocates of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act have claimed that it will “[stop] the subsidization of competent adults who are just choosing to not work,” the reality is that nearly all Medicaid recipients who aren’t automatically eligible based on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and are able to work are already working. Indeed, only 8 percent of recipients between the ages of 19 and 64 who weren’t on SSI or SSDI in 2023 “[weren’t] working due to retirement, inability to find work, or other reason.” Those who were not working were statistically more likely to be older women who left the workforce to care for aging parents or children.

Medicaid enrollees who are trying to find a job, are having difficulty finding employment, or who lack reliable transportation to work would be penalized under this requirement. That includes at least more than 2.6 million adults with disabilities who don’t have SSI or SSDI and have difficulty working due to disability or illness.

The Republican party is no longer about anything other than keeping power, and are in bed with pedophiles, losers, and self centered billionaires to fund their elections.

The problem for them is the same as what brought them to power, social media - uncontrolled, and unchecked - social media is turning against them, people are now aware of the truth, of the warfare raged by the upper classes on everyone else.

2026 will be a huge route (assuming there is no cheating) and the GOP will need to reinvent themselves as all this complicit "Me First" politicians will need to move on in order for a younger generation to take over.

The Dems have been fighting it, but it is now too late, it is obvious what the young folks want, it is their country, and we are marching towards a social democracy - like every other civilized country.

    We first, over me first.
