Seriously. There are games when I can understand being infuriated by the officiating -- this wasn't one of them. The most egregious blown call was in their favor -- pinning Texas at the 1 in a game that had been about field position all day. There was a pretty big no call on a block in the back on the punt return that set them up for their go ahead FG. I don't really know what they're fussing at. Nebraska's D was incredible. The Texas D was just as good, and it came down to a long field goal. Don't throw away what was a competitive game by blaming it on the zebras.
True. Bo needs to look at the two major mistakes made by his players (kick off out of bounds and hoarse collar tackle) as to why his team lost. At the end of the game you are right, it was about field position and who made the fewest mistakes. Buckner made a serious one for Texas by not securing a good pass from Colt but NU made two that lead to the game winning FG.
Peweenie just missed a big opportunity: to be a statesman for his team and school. God but that was a tough read, and it totally fits that look on his face for the end of the game. Without the stupid kick-off out of bounds and the horse collar, maybe he could say "it was a tough call" or something like that, still classy. But his team clearly choked it away with those two huge, avoidable penalties. No way UT gets in field goal range without all those penalty yards.
Pelini brothers really made themselves look bad lastnight IMO. I completely understand being frustrated, it was a tough loss after a very hard fought game. With that said, saying that a team should be ashamed of accepting a trophy and calling them cheaters without looking at a replay is pretty classless.
yeah it's the refs fault your kicker kicks it out of bounds. it's the refs fault you horse collar tackle jordan shipley to put texas in field goal range
