Yes but then the pick is not obvious. No matter who gets picked.. Boise state, tcu or Cincinnati, there is going to be a **** storm. Sure with ut vs Bama, you are going to get the traditional criticism but thats it. The bcs does not want another front of criticism
I'm not a fan of Texas or Bama but college football is college football. Just last week Bama did not look impressive. I mean they also could have lost to Tennessee but they blocked 2 kicks. Sure Bama looked dominant today and Texas looked unimpressive but that could change the day they play the National Championship Game.
Yes, they are. Nebraska could easily have been 11-1 this year if they had any semblance of an offense. The only games they didn't dominate defensively were Tech and an inexplicably bad performance against Colorado.
Tech's offense did score 31 points on them 24 was on offense but their defense is one of the best in the country offense as we have seen one of the worst as you saw tonight. Can't really criticize them too much since Texas does have a great defense.
Their Defense was spot on but they lost this game. They kicked it off out of bounds, giving it to texas at the 40 then horse collar tackle shipley to gift wrap texas field goal position. Dont get me wrong, as a texas alum, i'm ecstatic that we won but nebraska flat out lost it at the end.
n you're saying UT didnt make stupid mistakes? Special teams was awful with a blocked punt and that coverage, williams missed a wide open td pass, and then i forgot who but they got stripped the ball for that INT towards the end.
But congrats to Texas students, fans, and their alums. More than likely they will be in the National Championship, I grew up a Texas fan, one of my sister's went to Texas, my other sister will go there next year. I will root for them in the National Championship I was kind of pulling for Nebraska towards the end since I always pull for the underdog. But Colt and their kicker got the job kind of like when the Texas kicker made big kicks in the rose bowl two years in a row, what was his name T. Magnum or something like that?
I have a suggestion for you: Don't watch on January 7th when Texas plays Bama. Alabama had to block two field goals to beat a mediocre Tennessee team earlier this season. They also never took a lead from Auburn until 1:24 was left in the game. Therefore, these kind of games happened for them too. Why not TCU over Alabama then?
That said, as a Texas alum, I'll openly admit we played like crap tonight and were lucky to win. But an ugly win is all we needed and I'll happily take that spot in the BCS title game.
