Republicans support it, even today. They were advocating for this just a few years ago. We all generally support this reform.

most of bidens votes came from mail ins? do you have any proof to back that up?

youre just regurgitating baseless claims that were debunked years ago. there is no evidence that they stopped counting votes in georiga or pennsylvania.

he also threatened raffensperger by saying that he knows he is breaking the law and that he could be held criminally responsible. it was very mafia-esque.

The vote was during a pandemic, of course the majority of votes were mail ins, that's logical not political.

If everything was on the up and up then you shouldn't have a problem with Fulton, Maricopa, Pittsburgh, Philly, Detroit, Minneapolis turning in their votes first since there's no fraud.

you said the majority of biden votes were mail in. ill ask a 2nd time...do you have any proof to back that up. i think you are full of s*** here, but if you have any factual proof to back up your claims id be happy to be proven wrong.

you claimed that they stopped vote counting in georgia and pennsylvannia. i think you are full of s*** here, but if you have any factual proof to back up your claims id be happy to be proven wrong.

I should have said most votes in total were mail in votes. How about let's go back to pre pandemic and vote mostly in person and paper ballots since everything is on the up and up.

Go back and look for yourself the vote counting stopped for the night in those states. A water main supposedly broke in Fulton county.

    No you didn't what?

Are you saying most votes, or a larger percentage of votes weren't mail ins do to the pandemic?

Like I said, if everything thing was on the up and up you shouldn't have an issue with what I proposed. But apparently that's not the case. I wonder why?

    3. The voting experience in 2020
    [IMG]
A slim majority of voters (54%) say they voted in person this November, compared with 46% who voted by absentee or mail-in ballot. About one-quarter (27%) report having voted in person on Election Day, and an identical share say they voted in person before Election Day.

Two-thirds of Trump voters say they voted in person, compared with 42% of Biden voters. Nearly four-in-ten Trump voters (37%) say they voted in person on Election Day, while just 17% of Biden voters say they cast their ballot at a polling place on Nov. 3.

Trump voters are also slightly more likely than Biden voters to say they voted in person before Election Day. Three-in-ten Trump voters report voting this way, compared with 24% of Biden voters.

Black voters were less likely to vote by absentee or mail-in ballot than white, Hispanic and Asian American voters. About four-in-ten Black voters (38%) say they voted by mail, compared with 45% of white voters, 51% of Hispanic voters and two-thirds of Asian American voters.

Your post has nothing to do with Biden’s proposal to reform the Supreme Court. Perhaps you should start a thread about the subject, instead of derailing this one.

lol. youre really having a hard time with this, arent you. ill type in all caps so you can see better...NO, THE STATES OF GEORIGA AND PENNSYLVANNIA DID NOT STOP COUNTING VOTES. YOU ARE LYING WHEN YOU SAY THIS. THESE CLAIMS WERE DEBUNKED YEARS AGO.

FOR THE 3RD TIME...IF YOU HAVE PROOF THEN LETS SEE IT.

first you said most biden votes were mail in then you said most votes were mail in. there is no evidence of that. again, youre lying.

IF YOU HAVE PROOF THEN LETS SEE IT.

i dont care about your proposals. you cant even get your basic facts correct. im asking you to back up your claims and you seem unable to do so.

you are very confused about basic facts (or youre a liar). im just trying to clear things up for you.

I don't have to have proof of anything because of everything you say is true you shouldn't have any issues with waiting.

If you don't think the voice counts were delayed in some states I'm wasting my time.

The lamest lame duck executive seeks to meddle with the judicial branch.

    https://althouse.blogspot.com/2024/07/the-lamest-lame-duck-executive-seeks-to.html

    excerpt:

Having faltered and fallen in his own lane, Joe Biden seems to think his view of the Supreme Court might matter.

I'm seeing "Opinion/Joe Biden: My plan to reform the Supreme Court and ensure no president is above the law/We can and must prevent the abuse of presidential power and restore the public’s faith in our judicial system" (WaPo).

I served as a U.S. senator for 36 years, including as chairman and ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. I have overseen more Supreme Court nominations as senator, vice president and president than anyone living today. I have great respect for our institutions and the separation of powers.

What is happening now is not normal, and it undermines the public’s confidence in the court’s decisions, including those impacting personal freedoms. We now stand in a breach....
I agree that what is happening now is not normal, but which way is it not normal?

Is it not abnormal for a person to serve as U.S. Senator for 36 years, then to go on to be Vice President for 8 years, and still have time left to serve as President, and even to run for reelection as President when he is 81, and then to drop the nomination after excluding competitors and winning it in the primaries, handing the nomination to a person who never won any votes in any bid for the presidency? Is it not abnormal for a President to oversee the criminal prosecution of his predecessor, his rival, and then, after dropping out, to seek to rearrange the Supreme Court to enhance the likelihood that his rival will suffer real criminal punishment?

And what does "We now stand in a breach" mean? I think it's idiomatic to say "stand in the breach."

Don't want to be involved in the dumb spat with threes, but here is some proof: The 2020 voting experience: Coronavirus, mail concerns factored into deciding how to vote | Pew Research Center

58% of Biden voters in 2020 said they voted mail-in or absentee. I was surprised but probably because mail-in voting isn't big in my own state. But, I guess it is pretty common in others. Personally looking forward to the day that 95%+ of votes are cast online and the idea of voting by mail is deemed ridiculously obsolete.

It already is in many states, both Democratic and Republican, and was years before the pandemic. The conspiracy theorists simply ignore that fact.

Biden Now Wants To Force Others To Retire Too

    https://reason.com/2024/07/29/biden-now-wants-to-force-others-to-retire-too/

    excerpt:

Joe Biden vs. SCOTUS: President Joe Biden, who is no longer seeking reelection following a scandal related to his decline in cognitive fitness, has decided to use his last gasps of both vigor and presidential power to attempt to institute term limits for Supreme Court justices.

He is expected to unveil this slate of proposals publicly at an event in Texas later today. Biden will likely "argue that the current system of lifetime appointments for Supreme Court justices gives a president undue influence for decades," reports The New York Times. "He will propose a process in which a president would appoint a justice every two years to spend 18 years on the bench."

Biden has very little chance of actually being able to get this through. Reforming the Court in such a manner would be controversial, and it would require congressional approval. Without greater Democratic control of Congress, Biden has low odds of being able to pass such a thing. But legal challenges or unfeasibility, as made evident by his work on student loan forgiveness, doesn't mean he won't try. More to come once the proposal has been announced.
