The irony here is people are mocking this as a "Ministry of Truth" (and there is some validity to the fears over what this might become), all while Trump has literally created a social media platform called "Truth Social" on which he can insist to all that he did, in fact, win the 2020 election.

Biden is barely lucid, he would not have come up with it.

But Trump's weird network is a private company. Not a 1984 style government agency.

The lady that has been put as head of this thing led the charge saying the Hunter Biden laptop story was "disinformation". It has now been proven, as per the New York Times, that it was 100% legitimate. So you have a real world example of the person in charge of the "ministry of disinformation" or whatever its called being completely incorrect about what is disinformation and what isn't, most likely for political reasons.

 

But the principle of free speech.

One could argue that this is just another example of the theory of relativity. I think a lot of people are freaked about the ultra aggressive power grab of our entire media infrastructure by 3 billionaires two of which seems benevolent to while the other one despises democracy.

Even then there’s no evidence yet that the purpose and execution will turn out to be tilted propaganda. If anything id say the opposite is true and the people on this board will be way too concerned about being perceived as non bias, and they end up being ineffective because of the attacks from the right disrupting any focused initiative.
