    truth.

also this is either dumb or a publicity stunt.

there's a bunch of vaccines being made NOT by US companies. If some poor countries need vaccines, just give it to them, NOT MESS WITH THE COMPANIES WHO MADE THEM.

I am 100% against this proposal.

Even in the US in an established J+J vaccine factory in Boston, they messed up the production wasting millions of precious resources and the conditions were unhygienic and awful with peeling walls and brown dust everywhere.

And now you want your vaccine to be produced in Indonesia or Nigeria in a converted textile factory by some untrained unexperienced personel?

There is already widespread vaccine reluctancy in developing countries. What if those vaccines are indeed unsafe and kill people on a mass scale because they are made haphazardly? It will be a disaster.

Pfizer couldn't produce more vaccines because they were out of special bags. What if suddendly the demand of bags skyrockets because factories with no expertise and not even half the efficiency want them too? Instead of producing more doses we will end up with less doses.

There are many vaccines now and even more coming. Let capitalism do its job. It isn't a monopoly. The prices will naturally fall and as demand from the rich falls, they will be massively available to the rest

Meanwhile biotech companies having finally realised the profit from vaccines will research and develop more technologies instead of focusing mostly on drugs as they had done until this pandemic.

Yes. Just telling people how to make MRNA vaccines doesn't mean anyone will do it or do it well. On the liability side if Pfizer or Moderna were to give up IP rights to vaccines likely they wouldn't suffer liability from other companies manufacturing them anymore than Bayer has liability from other companies making aspirin. It would be up for individual companies and governments to regulate the quality control of manufacture.
