    J.B. was always going to be a head coach. He's a good coach.

    Silly me, I was under the impression that interim meant temporary...

    Not optimistic. :eek:

    So they went from quitting &/or not listening to one coach but they're suddenly gonna turn it on and tune into an assitant of a coach they weren't listening to?

    We'll see.

    And further, this assistant who values defence will suddenly start coaching defence even though he has had the opportunity to do so already?.

    I am an optimist, so I can see how there is a chance, buuut....

    SVG --> Pat Riley?

    Yup. This guy is/was their "defensive coordinator".

    I think there had to be something about McHale that was causing the players to tune him out. the FO is at practice and games, they know what's really going on. It's not the first time that players had more respect for an assistant than the actual coach. It also doesn't mean JB is going to do everything like McHale. We shouldn't assume the only change will be that McHale is physically gone.

    This.

    JB was in charge of the Rockets wonderful defense.

    JB was on the same staff as McHale and has been on the Rockets staff for years.

    JB looked completely overwhelmed in the Blazers series.

    We now have a 35 year old head coach with no head coaching experience.

    What could possibly go wrong?

    ^This. Les gives him til the end of the season. But like I said if we go on a 0-10 losing streak I don't see him keeping this job. Especially if we see the same exact problems.

    Some of you guys gotta believe, damn it at least give it a few games. You never know man, JB might just be waiting for an opportunity like this and bam! We got ourselves a coach. Stay optimistic
