Um, judging by the Christian response, I think you are laughing at the wrong folks. Why arent you laughing at this cult's followers? It's going to happen when it happens.
Mmmm, let's see... find the calendar, mark down May 21, 2011 as an especially great day to have sex with the wife, check. Rapture scheduled!
I was expecting to see a Cowboys Playoff Woes during the 2000's story... Great Disappointment indeed...
So by the off chance that I survive the first rapture, I can see two world-ending apocalypses in my lifetime? Nice!
do you think jesus can wait til june to do this...i will be SUPER PISSED if he came back in the middle of a rockets playoff run.
"There are some upon this earth of yours," returned the Spirit, "who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name, who are as strange to us and all out kith and kin, as if they had never lived. Remember that, and charge their doings on themselves, not us." - Ghost of Christmas Present
I think it would be stupidity. But, it's probably not as stupid as I'd hope to think. He was already wrong once, and instead of being stoned, it seems his followers have written it off as a mathematical mistake and are willing to be duped again. Maybe he'll lose some more folks on 5/22/11. But, he'll have an excuse, keep the cult going, and attract new members.
Throughout history there have been false prophets making bold predictions about the end of times. It is just amazing that people are dumb enough to believe them. Some people are like lemmings........so sad....honestly. DD
I think it takes neither bravery nor stupidity. This guy is probably making a lot of money from this and he's certainly getting a lot of attention. Now what does take a lot of stupidity is to follow this guy.
