The depth of the team would still be egregious either way. I like Morey and he obviously did good to get Dwight and Harden, but I hate how much he undervalues role players and coaching, especially when we don't have too many years of prime Dwight left.
[rQUOTEr]Patrick Beverly, point guard, Houston Rockets On if he would prefer to re-sign with Houston this offseason: "Of course, but at the end of the day this is a business, you can't control it, you just gotta do what's best for you and your family." On whether he'd be open to visiting with the Knicks if they came calling: "That's not up to me, that's up to my agent and stuff like that. I'm extremely happy with Houston, that's one of the teams that kind of took a chance on me for me getting to the NBA, but at the end of the day this is a business, and I'll let my agent handle that." http://www.nj.com/knicks/index.ssf/2015/02/heres_what_nba_all-stars_lamarcus_aldridge_jimmy_b.html[/rQUOTEr]
Nobody is going to pay Beverley that much. He's not capable of starting on any other team besides houston that allows him to shoot open 3s and play defense only. He can thank harden for his next contract
Only 2 teams i can see getting beverly is if goran goes to rockets is knicks and lakers. If rondo goes to lakers or knicks beverley can definatley get a tricky contract simmilar to parsons in dallas
No way Beverly gets Parsons type money. Maybe a smart team like the Spurs or Hawks pick him up for solid backup PG money, with the new CBA cap in mind. But Beverly isn't going to start for a contending team he'd be joining, like Parsons did.
I'm dying on this hill. I still like Beverley, but he needs a reduced role. If we can keep him at a reasonable price, I'd be for it.
$7-$8 sounds a bit high to me. It's not that I don't think every team in the league wont be interested, I just cant see a backup PG making that much. How many teams would actually start him? And of those teams which are contenders? I feel like mostly teams with playoff aspirations will be interested in him.
Maybe he signs with the Cavs if he doesn't stay with the Rockets. He is no fit for the triangle and no way the Lakers aim to get him.
4-5 million is probably his market value...he is gonna ask for 7-9 million and will not get it with the Rockets.
I mean... yeah? LOL. With Beverley, to me, it's about where ranks overall in terms of PG's and who the teams with cap space are going to be. He's a backup PG for most teams. It's not unheard of for a backup to make $9 but I would definitely be surprised.
