The mural is every bit as much property as a statue or the facade of a government building. When the mural is damaged, taxpayer money is spent to repair it.

But, it's fine, I really don't have any more issue with her defacing a BLM emblem than I do someone knocking over a confederate statue or tagging a government building. If we can prosecute any of them, go ahead and do so. Meanwhile, their petty crimes are also political speech so we should be careful about stifling them. I think de Blasio is handling it fine.

Agreed. He really needs to nip this in the bud with a show of power. Tanks need to patrol the streets, protesters should be dragged into unmarked cars by the secret police and protesters that take to the street should be shot. Right now we look weak, do what Stalin or Putin did. They never would have tolerated this nonsense.
