Having followed this thread, my sauces feel it's safe to conclude that most who were hating on Bev were Lin fans still hanging around here. Their idol is injured so they have nothing to do. Look at the join dates.
I think it's problematic to judge his defense statistically on such a small sample coming back from an injury. He clearly demonstrated his value last night.
That defensive sequence from bev on westbrooks last shot tho. To me he was the best player last night and the reason why we won
I think it's fair to say Bev can be overrated as a lockdown guy that you can give starter minutes. He definitely gets dumb fouls and sometimes puts rep before logic. I don't think he's DPOY. But then again Tony Allen does that too - there was a post about that earlier in the Dish. Some of that rep is earned by taking risks where others wouldn't. When it counts he is an excellent on ball defender and now he's a good 3 point shooter. He's a great fit next to Harden. I'm glad he's on our side.
what would be our record if we had bev healthy at the beginning of the year? best record in the NBA?? we would beat lakers cavs we put up a good fight and he would have helped us for sure so questionable winnable game atl whooped us Bev would have contained Parker better and another questionable winnable game Bev definitely would have helped us in the 1st OKC game and could have helped us to score a couple of points in the last 6 minutes of the game lol so basically with Bev, we could have won all our losses except 1.
He's not perfect on defense at all. But he is a good fit for this team. His focus on defense inspires and works with the rest of the team. Good stuff.
OP is a fraud who disappeared. Bev has been immense. That is 3 games in a row or something where he has made huge defensive plays down the stretch. So much so that I called it way ahead:
It's really tough to be a lock down defender at pg, is there even somebody that would be considered that? Too many good athletes in the league. But Beverly is a pest and has defensive effort which is what you want to see. He came into the league as a defender, I think injuries brought him down and he lived off reputation for a couple years which led to this thread. But he's back.
