I would run out and buy 3 Dekker jerseys if after the game he would roll over in his suit and put them hands on that fat okc fan, just start droppin them thangs on him
So from what I understand the OKC owner's son basically said - "FU, Patrick Beverley" a bunch of times? That's it? That's definitely a bad look, but THAT'S IT? If that is all there is to it then the NBA did exactly the right thing by fining Beverley, but not suspending him. I assumed players hear that all day every day. Some of y'all have yelled that at our OWN PLAYERS (RIP Brew).
Irony, thy name is Sweet Lou. You're assuming that the "none of you" in my post referred to everyone, and not just the people doing the things that I was talking about. Now let's have a huge fight over this!
Just because the fans pays for a ticket doesn't give them the right to disrespect another person even if there entertainers they still have rights and should be subject to disrespectful talk.
Laughing at a guy, crossing the line. A fan standing over a player, cursing and throwing clappers in his face, not crossing a line. Cool. Good to know.
fwiw: if you look on your tickets, shouting profanities is a cause for removal from the game, but enforcement of that rule isn't as efficient as the Rockets2K auto-ban bot in the antiquated game chat for when we cuss. Sometimes I do wish a temp 15-minute ban for cursing in the Game Thread could be implemented. Not because I'm offended by cursing, but because posts that are nothing more than a curse word or phrase just clutter the feed and cause unnecessary scrolling/paging by others looking to read/make real comments. The childish scrolling of cussing gets annoying.
yea a fan screaming F%^$! YOU!!! right into a players face while that player is laid out right underneath the fan happens all the time. good observation.
that's definitely a call out to Adam Silver. I think he did a good job responding to those questions.
I think Beverley said the right things. He wants to stand up for himself, is okay with the 25k fine, and wishes the league would do more to protect players from obnoxious fans. He also said that standing up for himself didn't include nor would he advocate using violence. I think Beverley was right to be upset that the fan said that to him while he was prone on the ground. I think Beverley was wrong to go back and say anything to the fan after the game. He should have waited to see if the league would take his part after he mentioned it and spoke to them. The OKC fan and his wife, are both grade-A pusses.
